I know that the official meaning of the word vegan is a person who doesn't eat meat, dairy, eggs, honey, as well as doesn't wear animal products such as wool and silk, and really cares about animal welfare. However, many people use the word vegan as another way of saying strict vegetarian; a person who doesn't eat meat, dairy and eggs, (may or may not eat honey), and limits this to diet only.
I've read of arguments that the original definition is the correct one while others say that the word vegan has evolved to include strict vegetarians. What are the views on this board about this?
