I would love to go vegetarian, but each time I try it doesn't work
out. I'm 70, and run, bike and swim hard. The last time I tried
to go vegetarian was for 3 months. It seemed that no matter how
many eggs I ate, I just got weaker and weaker. I had little
energy and couldn't sleep. I was always hungry.
Back on meat, I'm able to continue exercising and feel ok again.
What am I missing? Why does my body get weaker when on a
vegetarian diet, even with lots of eggs?
I'm lactose intolerant, so I avoid milk. And I'm seriously
hypoglycemic, so eat lots of eggs and vegetables, but no fruits
or sweets, and very few carbohydrates.
