Interesting explanation as to why it is not on the bottles...
Q: Hello, I was just wondering if you have any vegan products? So, no animal ingredients, and no animal testing on the product or ingredients. Thank you!
A:Thank you for your communication to us, expressing your concern regarding the matter of animal testing of products offered for sale to consumers. Since 1985, our goal at TIGI Linea, L.P. (TIGI) has been to supply the highest quality hair care and cosmetic products for sale to consumers through beauty salons, beauty supply stores, and cosmetology academies throughout the world. Our manufacturers supply us with the finest ingredients for these hair care and cosmetic products. In conjunction with our goal, TIGIs policy has always been to adhere to the highest industry standards in the manufacture and sale of our hair care and cosmetic products, and part of our policy is no animal testing. Therefore, we can assure you that we at TIGI and all of our manufacturers have never tested TIGIs finished products on animals.
Additionally, TIGI is the owner of the trademarks BED HEAD® and Catwalk®, as well as over 160 other registered trademarks for specific products worldwide. Consequently, you have our further assurance that none of our trademarked hair care and cosmetic products are tested on animals.
We hope that you will continue to enjoy using TIGIs hair care and cosmetic products for many years to come.
Here is a paragraph explaining why it doesnt say so on our bottles:
The latest amendment (7th amendment) of the European Regulations bans the claim of "Not Tested on Animals" on any cosmetic product. The only way we could claim "Not Tested on Animals" is by having substantiation from our manufacturers, their raw suppliers and the suppliers of the raw suppliers that the ingredients are not and have never been tested on animals, making it impossible for cosmetic companies and TIGI to track that information down. This new regulations has its controversy because even Water has been tested on animals at one point. We had to take off the claims we had on the bottles to not fall into any misrepresentation. Here in the United States there is no such law about animal testing but it is impossible to make these claims having an international package. This is the reason why we can only guarantee by request, that, TIGI and our manufacturers do not test on animals.
Thank you again for choosing TIGI products. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Amber P.

I know it said "finished product" at one point, but after reading that paragraph that I bolded, I understand why they have to say that. I am glad, because I love Bed Head's Control Freak Serum!
