This is a semi old article. Done in march. But I'm sad it was ever done. There was literally a contest to challenge meat-eaters to tell judges why it is ethical to eat meat. @___@ The comments on the article make me vomit...some hard core defense rationalizations. I tend to find they are very articulate with their words, if you know what i mean.

Gee, well let's think here. Is it ethical to kill people? NO!, but let's have a contest to see when it might just be ethical to reap lives from the innocent for our selfish desires! Any takers :D?

Usually people don't think about the reason why they eat meat. And after a discussion with a vegetarian, they just continue to eat meat, thinking they are right and vegetarians are just pale and stupid.

But if they have to advocate the reason to eat meat (with no discussions), maybe they will change their mind easier.

(Like: Tell me why do you throw that piece of waste paper on the street?)

I thought about that, but at the same time, some people will go to GREAT lengths to justifying slaughter, and once the winner has been chosen, their defense becomes the rationalization for the rest of the crowd who does feel guilty but doesn't want to quit.
