Does anyone know if most cornbread contains lard? I bought some boxes of the mix and realized it contained lard.
A lot of recipes for cornbread call for lard or bacon grease.
Yeah. It was Jiffy.
Campbells makes what appears to be a vegan mushroom gravy. It's in a can. Just heat and serve. I bought some the other day. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm planning to the next time I make biscuits or mashed potatoes.
You can use any of the usual suspects (see http://pakupaku.info/knowledge/raggedymilk.shtml or any number of threads here), or just use a vegan recipe. There's a good one here http://www.vegsource.com/articles2/b...anksgiving.htm (search for perfect cornbread)
EnerG egg replacer works really well. Though I don't think I'd try making a brioche with it, it works very well in most baked goods calling for whole eggs or egg whites.
