I've seen you mention flax milk several times....but why and how? Just really curious....

have you tried looking up cashew cream ice cream recipes? I know you don't use soy, but how about some of the other common ways of making it?

Also, I know you expressed dissatisfaction with the vanilla So Delicious coconut milk ice cream because it tasted too coconutty, but the chocolate and mint chip flavors don't taste coconutty to me at all. You might wanna try those.

a few alternatives are frozen banana puree and granita.

for the banana one just cut up and freeze a few bananas, then put them in the food processor/vitamix/blender with some water ( i use coconut water) and blend up. tastes great with chopped peanuts, added chocolate chunks, or peanut butter.

for granita just mash up any fruit, add some water and mix it up. put it in the freezer in a shallow pan or dish. after one hour take a fork and mix in the icy parts, do this again after another hour. then scoop out and serve. gotta do the fork thing or it will freeze in a solid block.

Even freezing sweetened almond or other milk in ice cube trays and whizzing in a blender with, or without fruit works for me.
I like to use chocolate soy or almond milk (I love Silk choc. almond- it's thick) in cubes and blend with cold strong coffee

Also, there are a lot of tasty vegan sorbets out there. They are fruity and delicious.

Tempt Ice cream is soy free and vegan (it's hemp, if that makes a difference). I've had the vanilla, that's pretty good. We get it at our local Fred Meyer's (not sure where you are, but FM's is in Washington State and Oregon).

Have you tried Almond Breeze almond milk?

Check the freezer section at Walmart. Some Walmarts sell regular So Delicious ice cream. I've also seen Tofutti Cuties at certain locations.

I wonder how they make it, or what else is added to it, because when you add water to ground up flax seed, it gets thick, which is why it's used as an egg replacer. If that's what you like, then great, I've just never seen it, and you're probably getting a lot of Omega 3s too, unless it's so processed, that it's negated.

Good ? Photojess here ate the ingredients filtered water cold pressed flax oil evaporated cane juice tricalcium phosphate vanilla extract canola lecithin sea salt guar gum xanthan gum carageenan natural flavor vitamin apalmitate vitamin d2 vitamin b12, it is not thick at all but now I see why the original and the vanilla taste pretty much the same. I wanted to evaporate sone for my omni husband so he can stop buying evaporated milk.

I'd pass personally....too many ingredients including oils. There's guar gum and xanathan gum to try to thicken it up, cane juice to sweeten it, and I don't know what tricalcium phosphate does....maybe a preservative.

I'd love an unsweetened one. It's weird they are thickening it but it's not thick. I don't like almond milk cuz it's like spoiled milk but this stuff looks just like regular milk.
