I haven't tried dried beans because I can't find any cheap enough, so I was wondering if there's anything I can do to the beans I get that gets rid of that strange taste?
Maybe it's me, because I've never beans in my regular diet except for some tins of baked tomato ones. But I always feel like my beans taste of the stuff they've been kept in, like chemicaly ickyness. I haven't tried soaking them for a longer time than like 30 minutes but that's only because the thin (or the paper box thing these ones were in) always says "ready to eat". Who wants to eat their salad with kidney beans that taste of detergent ??
