This is so sad.

I love slow lorises, they are incredibly adorable. But clearly people should not be taking them out of their natural habitat and keeping them as pets. Seriously, they'd be just as cute watching them living out their lives free on National Geographic videos or something.

I find it especially depressing because I'd seen the umbrella video the article is talking about and it WAS heart stoppingly cute. While at the time I still didn't think it was right to keep an exotic animal like that as a pet I had no idea they removed their teeth or that he had a head injury, that officially makes it more horrible than anything else.

Ugh, I remember watching the video and showed my mother when she was over. The first thing out of her mouth was; "Where can I buy one?", which does not surprise me because she got and gave away more pets than I could count when we were children.

We have a sugar glider we've had for 6 years and I agree. Animals, especially exotics with special needs/diets belong in their natural habitats. I don't care how nice a home they have, how many treats they are fed, they deserve to live in freedom.
