Hello

I just want to get some feedback on your favorite pantry items. Its getting pretty expensive trying a bunch out there. My favorite has to be Bragg-liquid aminos, i use it in almost everything! Also, my favorite vegetable broth is by Seitenbacher ( pretty pricey, but worth it).

I am a serious cook!, its my passion. I cant wait to here some of your suggestions.

hey evita,

some of my favorites are; mild dried red peppers, chipolte peppers and sun dried tomatoes. all add a wonderfull flavor to seemingly any cooked (sun dried tomatoes are the secret to my guacamole) foods. i can't live without garlic, i use TONS! i am not much of a garlic connosieur, but last year at the farmers market i was getting these huge baseball sized heads pretty regularly which were awesome. i gotta remember to ask them what those were this year. the garlic at the grocery is usually the wimpy small kind. elehpant garlic is a nice treat, but kind of weak. i've only used it for making roasted garlic. this is a very nice treat if you've never tried it! mix a clove or two with some olive oil, salt and your own choice of herbs and you have yourself a nice sandwich spread, or dip.

hmm, i keep and buy a lot of bulk foods, grains and beans. try and rotate it up a bit. the past few weeks i've had wheat berries, a store mix of 8 different types of rices, steel cut oats, quinoa, popcorn and tabouli mix. can't be without ground just peanuts, butter. nor edens apple butter. lastly, i allways keep on store a loaf of bread, a package of pitas and a bag of granola from this wonderfull whole foods bakery in town. i'm also a big fan of puffed kamut and all the other puffed cererals from arrowhead mills!

oh, i forgot about the beans...heh. well, i have an issue with not eating them often enough for some not clear reason (time?). i don't like canned foods, and i'm bent on using them dried...so its kind of oxymoronic. but aside from that i have the norml varieties. would like to try some of the traditional indian dals.
