Hello, I'm a 17-year old guy from Southern Finland! I've been a vegetarian for 10 months, and felt like I needed a place to discuss veg/AR-related issues.
I haven't regretted going vegetarian at all. It just feels so right if you know what I mean :--)
As far as availability goes, it's easy to be a vegetarian here. There's a wide variety of beans and legumes, and you can find some organic products as well. There are lots of meat and milk alternatives but I try to avoid those since they taste weird and are heavily processed.
Vegetables and fruit are plenty as well, but local organic products are insanely expensive, almost always triple that of those from more southern lands. It's only natural given our location, but it is unfortunate.
Attitudes towards vegetarians and vegans are actually somewhat hostile. I'm often bombarded with questions regarding my vegetarianism, and many think vegetarians are "curable" -- not in a medical sense though -- or that they are just trying to lose weight.
