Has anyone else noticed that parachute pants are coming back? I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Oh! And those awful primary colored polyester gym shorts like I had to wear in middle school! Oh, I hated those. I don't think the new ones are polyester, though.

-You had a microwave that was deep enough to come to the edge of the counter, and had a dial on it.

-You played battle ball or dodge ball.

-You went to a playground with metal and concrete, not rounded plastic.

-You had "friendship" beads.

(Sorry to jump in, it's just so much fun!)

You drank capri suns

wore neon pink, green, and clothes in combinations that it hurt to look at you and yet you thought you were cool

Your clothes were three to four sizes too big for you

you used aussie sprunch spray or aqua net in the girls bathroom in between classes to keep your hair as high as possible

played with rainbow bright, transformers and care bears

collected those plastic jelly bracelets

listened to Wham!

had caboodles to store your neon purple, blue and green eye shadow and mascera

Love's Baby Soft was your favorite perfume

I grew up in the late 80's, but I remember most everything on here!!!

Jellies - I wore those ALL the time, and had many blisters.

Pony tail... ON THE SIDE!

care bears ruled.

Plastic bracelets

I had this really freaky black, and neon colored dress.

SLAPBRACELETS! I was obsessed!

What are those thingies, that were plastic, and you put part of your t-shirt in it... They were round, and sometimes had rhinestones on it....? I dunno, but I wore that with spandex shorts, and a fanny pack. LOL.

Best thing about being born at the time I was- is being able to appreciate Saved By The Bell!

LOL - I was trying to figure out what those things were called too - I used to wear them with my oversized New Kids on the Block t-shirts.

To the jelly wearers - Did your jellies rip all the time - I seem to remember that after one wearing, I would have these rips in the heels. Yet I would still wear them!! they would be falling off with each step and I would try to gut it out until they were competely destroyed.
Also does anyone remember Candies?? They were like Jellies, but the weave was bigger??

man this thread is taking me down the memory lane

You could qualify as a back up dancer for Paula Abdul-or maybe that was just me. I still remember all the moves from all of her music videos. Oh, and remember Top Gun? I was so in love with Val Kilmer well into my teens after seeing that.

I had a flourescent orange fanny pack that I wore everywhere. I still have it, but I don't wear it anymore. I had the most uncomfortable Jellies. They cut into my skin a bit, but I wore them every other day.

Were the eighties when we had the slap-on bracelets, or was that the early nineties?
