I don't understand this pipe dream hippies call global harmony. At the end of the day, it is an unavoidable fact of life that humans are the sole cause of pain and suffering in the world, due to our free will to act, brutal intelligence, and desire for power. It is completley obvious that humans never have, and never will co-exist with nature/animals. If you think that just because you are vegan and ride a bike everywhere you are somehow making any sort of difference in the world you are arrogant and misguided. Sure, you can "limit the suffering" by trying to do your part and make a difference, but with 6 billion people in the world and only a few of them being enviromentally concerned, your impact is not even marginally noticable. It is all an illusion. Sure if you surround your self with eco-friendly peers and donate your time to helping out good causes, you may get some weird feeling of satisfaction, but it's just not real. Everytime you use this website you are sucking engery from the earth. Everytime you go to the bathroom you are hurting nature. Everytime you do ANYTHING at all you are detremental to the enviroment BECAUSE YOU ARE HUMAN. Think about what a house is. Land is completely destroyed and made infertile to build the house you live in. Then it is wired to suck energy from the enviroment and spew waste back out. Humans and their establishments are nothing but waste and death factories. And then you use the very same technology that is destroying the enviroment to build this website and spread your message. Its all so unbelievably stupid. Even if you left the so called liberal eco-friendly city you call home (even Berkeley is an anti-nature death factory) and lived in the forest with no technology and made every attempt to co-exist with nature, you would still have to build shelter and you would probably end up stepping on a few insects. You just can't avoid your own humanity and to pretend like you are making a difference is unacceptable. Lets pretend the whole world stops eating animals. Then the inevitable would happen. Animals would eventually over run human cities (this has already happend in India with monkeyes) because they would not be dying fast enough. Sure for a while you could move the animals around (which is already violating a moral code about interfering with an animal's life) but eventually in order sustain room and resources for the ever increasing human population you would have to start killing the animals. WE CAN NOT CO-EXIST WITH ANIMALS. IT AS NEVER WORKED AND NEVER WILL. Eventually nature and humans rub shoulders and then humans have to make adjustments to the enviroment. This is not disputable. And again with the "limit the suffering argument" who are you to draw the moral line in the sand and say "well its ok move animals around and create reservations as long as we don't hurt them". Do you think the animals want to be moved around? Do you think they want to live in artificial enviroments just so humans can flourish? Who made that bike your riding? Where did the aluminum come from? Do you honestly think no animals were displaced when they made that bike factory? Do you make sure everything you own (including your computer and the servers that support the internet your using) is manufactured in a way that doesnt harm animals? DONT YOU GET IT? YOUR ENTIRE PHILOSOPHY IS BANKRUPT OF LOGIC. The only way to save the enviroment is to get rid of humans. Screw your moral soap box made of tofu that you preach from.
