I know a lot of you don't associate with PETA, but I've been reading up on this for ages and I wanted to share the good news .

Basically the U.S Army announced yesterday that they won't use Vervet monkeys any more for the training exercises of a chemical attack. They injected them with a toxic drug overdose in order to crudely simulate the effects of a nerve-agent attack. It made a lot of them have seizures and stop breathing.

I sent a couple of my own letters to General Nick Justice and he never replied but PETA sent out an update this morning saying that they're now going to replace the monkeys with a non-animal alternative! I'm so pleased!

Yes this is great news but Like I said. We need to keep a check on them to make sure they honor their word!

That's great news for the monkeys. Hopefully they'll decide to follow through and stay clear of other animals for testing as well.
