Mine was when I was taking care of my sisters cat. He was very, very sick. The vet gave him one week to live. He wouldn't eat anything.

Anyway, she was extremely upset. She had JUST lost her other cat to a similar sickness, so she was heart sick thinking she'd have to put her second cat down as well. So I gave her the night off to get out of the house (She literally had not left him for weeks) and offered to take care of him. I tried to convince him to eat by giving him a sardine. I've never eaten one, so I thought it would be a gross little fish thing, but not too bad.

He took a couple of nibbles...and promptly started shredding it with his claws. I had to clean up shredded stinky fish out of the carpet. It was awful.

(BTW, he had a miracle recovery. He is a very healthy and happy kitty now)

What's your worst meat experience since becoming veg*n?

For a while, when I was still driving truck, I would have to sometimes pick up a load of butchered chickens from a Tyson slaughterhouse in Missouri. It was all I could do to keep from retching. I left that job for this reason.

Glad to know your sister's kitty recovered!

Last thanksgiving, my husband and I had a turkey for Thanksgiving, this was when I was pretty knew to veg living, so we had one we then put the roasting pan that had the bones and rest of the stuff aside, we then forgot about it after a days, we was wondering what was that smell, then my husband lifted up the roasting pan and it was gross, he had to walk the roasting pan outside where we were living at, dump the remains into something and spray it with a hose out there with soap before bringing it inside the house.
I am telling him this year if you want a turkey you get a roast your self and we don't have to do what we did last year plus, we live in another home with another stove and oven and we are using snippets of things this year.

The f*cking lobster. I was at my partner's family's place recently and they were having lobster. There was a paper bag on the table and I reached into it before realizing, I touched the poor live lobster. I nearly broke down in tears because I knew what they were going to do with it and I didn't know what I could do, because I was there on their dime and they already don't like me too much because my partner went vegan due to my influence.

They are pretty obsessed with meat, so I had a pretty miserable time when we weren't on the beach, usually away from them.

I know how you feel (kinda) my husband used to deliver for perdue, and stories he told were horrific. Like, the dumpster full of chickens, flies and the smell. How people could eat meat is beyond me! It's so nasty!
