I see so many different measurements for the waist when they list pant sizes. And this is in the U.S by the way. So when I see size 18 pants and a chart with the waist sizes in alignment with it, they don't add up. 18s are big on me but 16s can't quite reach over my stomach. How am I suppose to know what waist size I should be able to fit into a size 10 with information that confuses me?

In the U.S guys have a better system. The pants say "waist size blank to blank" (EX. 36-38) Wow! That's amazing! Why can't women have something as straight forward and simple like that? Do the makers of women's pants think women would be offended if they had to choose pants that display the range of waist sizes?

I just want to know simply what size waist I should be to fit into size 10s. Why does labeling have to be complicated sometimes?

I feel your pain. Don't get me started! There are no standard sizes in the US anymore. I can be a 0 in one store and a 4 in another! I used to be a 6 petite, all the time, everywhere. Not anymore. If I try on a 6 petite in one store, they'll fit right, and in another store, they're so big they fall off me! I never know what size I am anymore. And my stomach size fluctuates constantly, so pants that fit me a year ago or six months ago don't fit me now.

Yeah it sucks. I hate shopping for pants. It's really a nightmare because no two sizes fit the same. Every pair of pants seem to be cut differently no matter what size they claim to be. I can go into the dressing room with 5 pairs of the same style, size pants and have each one fit a different way. Each brand also has their own idea of what "size" the pants actually are. It's frustrating and ridiculous.

Friday, I was a size 2. The day after, a 5. Today I'm wearing size 4's (US sizes). Not that extreme, but annoying.

I know right? I have a pair of size 18s that I don't think even fit me enough anymore for me to wear them but a different brand with a size 18 fits me perfectly and it was a brand I wore in high school. So weird...

I agree, You also have clothing stores that run small so even if you get an XL it's like trying to squeeze into a medium. I guess I don't care so much about shirts but yeah, pants are the most irritating.

Shirts are a different story, I can go from a large to a small depending on the store or cut.

Shirt sizes are fairly consistant for me. I'm usually good in an XL, sometimes I'll be cool enough to fit into an L but all depends on the stores.

I have a similar problem with shirts because I'm very small above the waist. Most of the time I'm fine with a small, but sometimes the shirts run so small that a medium fits better. And forget about extra small. Because I'm so petite, I have to wonder who the hell can wear an extra small, toddlers?

LOL! Wow, I look at size 8 pants and think, No way... how could I ever wear these? I'm a big boned person. I'm big too but my bones are actually large too so I have a hard time seeing myself in anything that small even if I get down to a healthy weight O.O

I'm a pretty cosistant 4. The only time I need to go up is if I'm bloated. LOL I know I've dropped too much when I need to go into the back of the closet and pull out the 2s. :-(

Wow, I recently bought a pair of 16s which is fantastic for me! They're still a little snug but the 18s were too big, a lot of my 18s are too big but depending on the brand I wouldn't be able to squeeze into the 16s. Yesterday was an accomplishment for me

I have such a hard time finding pants that fit, my hips are very narrow but my legs are very long, so I either have to wear baggy around the waist (which I'd be fine with except I'm allergic to metal in belt buckles) or an inch too short in the legs so it looks like I'm waiting for a flood. Bongo is the only brand of jeans I can find that fit but lately I've found the quality of that brand has gone way down hill. And a lot of the jeans aren't really my style, i like plain jeans with a boot cut but all i've seen lately are skinny jeans (street wear society and stitches are the only two stores that I've seen sell the brand)

here's the US standard size chart. it should help you figure out your waist goal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_stan...#Women_s_sizes

so, a size 10 would be 28.5 inches around the waist. from a size 16, that is probably about 30lbs. its a 10 pound difference between sizes.

That sounds exactly like me (except for the metal allergy part, that must be rough) !
