This is kinda bizarre, but I do wonder if the woman really shot the husband accidentally. It's crazy in the US...I've heard of disputes between neighbours over a dog supposedly pooping in the neighbor's lawn, and both neighbors ended up pulling out their guns and shooting at each other over it. It seems everyone in the US has guns and they just shoot at each other over anything. It's like the wild west!

Crap like this and even weirder or worse happen everywhere i don't really like my country being singled out as crazy, and no we don't all have guns, i'd go as far to say that probably most don't have guns.

I seriously doubt it was an accident.

Ya it's kind of crazy how it's like dog attacked human, put it down, but human attacked human, lock them up and try to rehabilitate.

So, she tried to shoot a dog while her husband was holding it? You don't do that unless you want your husband to die. Accident? Get real.

There are so many things wrong with that story, first a puppy attacking children is very rare. Second the dog was attacking children but the man could hold it without the dog biting him. Three "accidentally" missed point blank... suuuure. Four the dogs name is cocaine... thats horrible.

Why am I not surprised this happened in Mississippi? My first thought upon seeing the headline was "must have been some rural, hick place, probably in the deep South". Stuff like that just doesn't happen here in southern Florida. Around here, people shoot each other on purpose.

I think it may have actually been an accident. She was freaking out, grabbed a gun, tunnel visioned on the dog, and fired upon it. She was probably too crazy high on adrenaline to realize her husband was attached to the dog. It probably wasn't her gun, and she probably hasn't used it much, if at all. Freaking out + 0 experience could cause someone to shoot the person holding the dog. If she really wanted her husband dead, there are other simpler and easier to get away with methods. Not that I've ever thought of such methods.

She may have just been an utter moron.

I guess you'd HAVE to be an utter moron to do something like that accidentally, but I have a hard time believing that any sane person would try to shoot an animal that their loved one was holding. Unless it's proven that she's certifiably insane, then I say she did it on purpose.

I love how she thinks this is a valid excuse for shooting her husband, as if it makes her seem like a better person. "Oh it's ok. She was only trying to murder a baby dog, so it doesn't count."

Sorry, it just struck me as an odd name. No offense meant, really, my cat also has a drug name that he had before living with me. Unfortunately that breed of dog does attract bad owners and the name just jumped out at me. Not saying this is the case the dog could have been playing with the kids, they could have been teasing it and because of the breed the woman overreacted.

Quote:

That's exactly what I thought! How would killing the puppy be any better than killing the husband, or vice versa?

Also, when I saw the dog's name was Cocaine and saw the tiny backyard it was kept in, I thought it was probably one of those dogs someone gets to fight or use as a guard dog. The article is a bit confusing, though. The puppy may have just been in the yard while he was gone or just out going to the bathroom or something. Either way, I don't know enough to assume anything, and seeing the owner with his adorable puppy made me really sad, and he does seem to care about her by the way he's trying to help her.

Also, how could this adorable thing go attacking children?

Was it supposed to be looking at a child victim here with its adorable little face? I think the whole thing is just a violent lie. I really hope the dog doesn't get put to sleep, since it's a Pitt Bull and accused of violence.

Her husband was able to pick up this "vicious" dog, yet she still felt the need to shoot at it? Just when you think people can't get any stupider . . .
