okay, as someone who has had dental work their whole life, PLEASE consider this advice.

Don't try to get General Anaesthesia. Go for the nitrous!!

General is dangerous, you can't eat ahead of time, and its kind of unpleasant in my opinion.

If they give you nitrous you simply won't care what they do to you. I find it simply enjoyable at times. They can give you the nitrous before they give you any local anaesthetic even....and then you won't care about that either.

I promise its the best way to go. I've done both. You basically will just feel euphoric and on cloud 9, and many times will feel that you are not anywhere in the room where the surgery is going on. So you needed worry about being awake....you really aren't "awake." and you can eat and drink, and you aren't risking your life by going "under" unneccessarily.

btw, I have two dental implants and had 3 root canals every 3 months for 3 years when I was younger. also had the wisdom teeth pulled, cavities, crowns, etc. in case my experience with dentists is of interest to you in making the decision.

in reading all these posts, Im surprised at the number of you that went under general anaesthesia. statistically, its higher than normal.

why pass up all the fun of nitrous and feel crappier afterward for no reason?
