I'm bipolar/manic depressive (shu'p! I can't help it!) and my mood swings are triggered by the weather, it seems. It has been rainy and cold all week, and I've been feeling like crap. Today it's sunny though, and it got up to 46 degrees. I'm feeling slightly better, although I am sleep-deprived, under loads of stress, and I'm taking the SAT tomorrow morning. *sniff*

I totally have a lot in common with you, VK.

I definitely get way depressed in winter, and it certainly triggers my mood swings, HOWEVER Drexel is taking quite the big bite out of my winter blues

Oh man. He's so dreamy, my knowledge of the English language does not allow me to put into words my thoughts when I think of him <giggle>

Dude, you like Problem Child 2. Feeling better in the winter is minor compared to that.

i hate winter, my boyfriend loves it but he hates that there's no snow.we're from way up north in ontario where winter is quite a bit harsher than it is down here in toronto. it's going to be 9 C on sunday!! it should be -30 C by now!!

kat it could also be due to the new moon, apparantly it's playing havoc with everyone's moods and emotions, especially capricorns and scorpios though

Record highs of 70 -72 F predicted in KC this weekend. YEAH!!!

Unfortunately, all will come to end middle of next week. Snow/ice storm predicted with a high of 18F on Thursday. I think its the up and downs of winter that frustrate me, and furthermore, I can't wait for baseball season to start.

KC Fact of the Day---Kansas City is deemed the "City of Fountains". Only one city has more fountains in the world which Rome....however, us water folk are quickly catching up. And one more fact, on opening day for the KC Royals they actually dye all of the fountains navy blue in honor of the Royals. Pretty neat stuff.

hmmm... fountains. yep. my mom has a habit of sneaking bubble bath into places with big fountains. and well... dumping it in. it results in a LOT of bubbles.

at the CNE one year she did it, and it was kinda breezy that day and she used too big a bottle of bubbles, and well, there were clumps of bubbles the size of a large dog floating through the air all through the park.

it was pretty hilarious. we were just laughing our asses off and taking lots of photos, while people kept walking by with that "what the hell" look on their faces. it was absolutely priceless and i'd so do it again. i highly recommend it

Thanks for the idea that sounds like something right up my alley. My wife will kill me, but I gotta do it. I shall attemp this soon and report back to you. Knowing my luck, I'll probably get arrested and end up on the next episode of "COPS": Thanks again

Silly celcius people...jk

I tend to find winter can be a little depressing too, but it's nowhere near as bads now that I'm back in California. I went to school in Oregon and though it was lovely I missed seeing the sun for months at a time. I agree with Mikie though, Winter Love does help.....

KC, What basketball and Hockey don't do it ofr you? well there are still a cuople weeks left in the football season.

Oh my nelly- I HATE WINTER! and I hate snow and ice and slush...

It makes me unhappy the moment it begins. Really really so. Right now however it is being very wacky, and creeping me out- it is almost February, and the snow has just almost melted away again-- gonna be hell on the roads when it re-freezes...

I like to combat said seasonal disorder by doing things like running away to California, and romancing internet boys there.

Winter sucks. Give me summer any time.

LadyFaile, you bring up a good point about the moon. I'm a Sagitarius but I pretty much know when it's a full moon just by how antsy I get.

there are easier ways to get over winter blues without running off to cali

cheaper too

next time you repaint the inside of your house consider yellow tones

or just toss some yellow pillows or throws around the room you spend the most time in

light candles and burn some lemon or floral scented insense

keep lots of plants around

use a humidifier or air purifier to filter out that dry "winter smell"

LF--It is so cold where I'm sitting right now. In a climate/humidy controlled computer data center and your color scheme makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over.

Back in November, we moved into our new house. KC Jr.'s room was so much fun. We painted it in bright colors, and turned it into an African Safari room. My wife painted an awesome murel on the walls that included green plants, a giraffe, an elephant, a big lazy tiger sitting in a tree, koala bear, and some monkeys. She did a fantastic job, it looks so realistic!! We bought a bunch of plants from a local nursery and hung them underneath the skylight that sits in the ceiling. For Christmas, we bought him every safari stuffed animal known to mankind and then we decorated his little sleigh bed with that grassy material that girls use for grass skirts. His bed looks like a little hut (Gilligan's Island. Lastly, to finish it off we recently traveled to Branson, MO when all of sudden we saw this store called the Palm Tree Store. I crammed on the brakes and we stopped in. It was incredible... they sold immitation palm trees, but they looked very realistic. Unfortunately, the starting price was $500 per tree so I looked over some of their other product line. Then I found an 8 foot banana tree that looked awesome (even had bunches of bananas) for a much more reasonable price. I ended up buying it and it looks so funny in his room. We bought little stuffed monkeys and lizards and put them in the tree. Needless to say on our trip home, people were giving us some pretty strange looks. The tree extended from the back of my utility vehicle all the way up to the front windshield. Mrs. KC thinks I'm crazy,,,but I say that's why she loves me so.

It's actually pretty nice outside. We hit 70F yesterday....but its freaking freezing in the data center at work. I am working the console with my coat on and wrapped in a heating blanket. This is ridiculous. Nice work conditions.
