Alrighty.... Here's my Froggy the Frog Story...
It was about 1993, and I had lost most of my motivation in college, and took to wasting my time on the little green character-based screens that could connect me with the rest of the world (You know? The Internet?). I discovered you could chat on these things and that was good. But then, I discovered that you could roleplay online too with these games called MUDS. The particular MUDS I was on was called "Ancient Anguish". There were all kinds of creatures on the game that you could kill: Orcs, rats, goblins, etc., all depending on what level you were. At one place in the game, there was a frog, and if you kissed the frog, you became a frog. At first, I was distressed when my character Lani became a frog! I was sure this must be a bad thing, being "Lani the Frog" rather than "Lani the Utter Novice". I found out that being a frog really had no detrimental effect, so I decided I would create a character on the game for the sole purpose of being a frog. I called this character Froggy, and my title became "Froggy the Frog". The name itself evoked a positive response from other players and I found the name to have a rather friendly feel to it and a nice complement to my real life personality, so I decided to keep the name. As you can probably calculate, I've had this name for pretty close to 14 years now. It's become a suitable personification for me.
