Why do people switch to a vegan diet? I say switch because it is rare to meet someone that has been eating a vegan diet since birth. Most people choose a vegan diet for one or all the following three reasons: personal health, humane treatment of and compassion for animals, and, lastly, care for the environment. Donald Watson (1910- 2005) coined the term vegan in England in the mid-1940’s. As a co-founder of the Vegan Society in 1951, he created the term vegan and described veganism as being “the doctrine that man should live without exploiting animals.”2 Mr. Watson, along with other founders of the society, felt that it was hypocritical for vegetarians (those not eating animals) to eat dairy products and eggs because these products are, in fact, by-products of the meat industry.

after extensive research on this topic, I have divined the reason.

The reason that most people switch to a vegan diet is directly to annoy you.

Several professional papers have been written on this topic and Yale University is offering a Phd program into research on this topic.

If people want to read the reason why people seek a vegan diet, you can read the writings of Mahatma Gandhi. There is also good info on

vegan.com

But don't forget, the world community of vegans has declared the original poster to have stimulated the world movement towards veganism, as far back as the year 1324, out of sheer rebellion against him, and everything he stands for. And his cat.

Well, the world is constantly evolving, and so are the people in it.
People look for evolution, for change; if not, it turns dull. Sometimes these changes may come abruptly, like the pandemic that forced all of us to switch our way of working and start prioritizing remote work.
Like we all did in the pandemic, it is now happening with veganism. Significant changes that completely modify our way of living but seek to improve our quality
