All I can find is whole wheat pastry flour ... which the texture is unpleasant (at least in the baked goods I need to use it for) ... not to mention that it screws up the recipe b/c WWPF requires more liquid. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/undecided.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":-/"><br><br><br><br>
I had to make something for a special occasion today and ended up having to use cake flour... a brand which obviously would have such things as bromates and peroxides used in processing (but don't get me started). Argh.<br><br><br><br>
What happened? Did the stores in my area (and I've visited a LOT of them over the past few weeks in prep for this dessert) stop carrying or is this a phenom noticed elsewhere? I don't understand it. Not even my HFS with the huge bulk section carries it anymore. WT* Argh. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/inquisitive.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":stinkeye:">

I just looked, and King Arthur carries white pastry flour. Just search their shop online section with the key words pastry flour. I know it is a pain to have to mail order things.
