i dont understand <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/huh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br><br><br>
oh and i weight about 47 kilos. calorie calculators said i should be eatining 1600 a day to maintain while active. clearly incorrect. but LOSING on 1900, while completely INACTIVE??<br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/no.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="">

Calorie counters are inaccurate. Every metabolism is different; be glad yours is an efficient burnalator!<br><br><br><br>
Good luck with your non-counting endeavors, by the way. I know how hard it is to relearn how to read your body and know when you're hungry and what you're hungry for, too. I'm relearning right now! It feels good, though.

teddygee- im so glad your doing it!!! and thanks for the input.<br><br>
im really freaking out at the moment. gradual noncounting and 'bad foods' have been increased for a while (and lo and behold, so has happiness, i went out to dinner with boyfriends parents, something ive avoided for ages, had amazing organic food. i had no idea how many calories in it though. but so glad i went! ive been eating white bread scones, all kinds of things, and no cancer thus far!! ).<br><br>
the thing is..letting go completely just freaks me right out. last night i just kept eating and eating this jam. so much sugar. i odnt know whats going on. i just..i ...argh. im so scared <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/sad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":("> there are literally no words for this fear. or for the feeling weighing on my shoulders everytime i try and enjoy pastry or whatever, that im killing my body with cancery chemicals.<br><br>
thats actually worse than the calories thing at the moment. but maybe thats coz its a struggle to get to enough anyway.<br><br>
aaa this is making no sense. trying to do school work and have gotten a lot done by worrying about all this less lately. but now its hitting me and im so confused. i wish..i could put it into words. just want to cry. and it kills me that i see people walking around eating 'bad things' and laughing..and sure, maybe they'll get sick..but im still jealous. i know its stupid.

Maybe it would help you if you went whole grains and natural sugars in your unrestricting endeavors? The things I've begun to reincorporate into my diet are natural fats, I put cashew butter/peanut butter, avocados, and some nuts on/in my food.<br><br><br><br>
I think I know what you're talking about...I'm trying to gain 10 pounds because I literally <i>need</i> to(medical thingy; my body fat is too low to maintain balance), and I want to because it is good for me. But I like my body! I feel good about myself and my self-absorbed superficialities say "Screw health, I look <i>good</i>". Haha...I'm just trying to gain it slowly and the right way, starting to exercise and such. I've not really had a problem with disliking my body, binging, restricting etc. since March but I just didn't gain weight when I started eating more. I still haven't, and I feel like I'm eating more than I'm hungry for. It's strange.<br><br><br><br>
It's good that you're being able to let go, though...just tell yourself to shut up whenever you say "This is too much...this feels weird..." because it does feel weird but it's probably normal. Strannnnge.

aaaaaaaa! exactly the same situation!!!<br><br><br><br>
and just now i was craving chocolate. its almost lunchtime and my lunch was gonna be fantabulous. and after last night the last thing i need is chocolate. but i decided to give in. but it feels wrong coz it would've been easy not to. i dont know. im losing my mind. im meant to gain, dont want to gain. meant to eat healthy, want chocolate. meant to eat more, want less. im so SO all over the place. i hate this.

When you are worried about food giving you cancer, remind yourself you are more likely to get cancer from worrying about it.<br><br><br><br>
I live next to a busy street with tons of bus exhaust, I go months at a time without exercizing, I cross said busy street twice a day, often not at the crosswalk. All of this is much worse for me than my occasional candy bar. Once you are able to give up counting for good, you might want to give up thinking about foods giving you disease for good. It seems to be just another manifestation of the problem. I wish you luck.

thalia thank you <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"><br><br>
its a good point and one that someone else on here brought up recently as well and hearing it actually made a world of difference. its why i eat ANY junk these days. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"> a third of cancer preventable by diet IS a lot...but at the same time..its really not.<br><br>
and worry contributes to it all. im healthiest when im not freakin out or living off greens :p<br><br>
makes a huge difference. it really does. my bad day has actually turned out pretty free and happy :p

(Dark) Chocolate <i>is</i> healthy!<br><br><br><br>
Do you have the feeling sometimes when you're preparing a meal and your habits say to put back this handful of cereal or whatever it is, because you've overmeasured or something or other? And then you realise that you're going to burn it anyhow and that you're not even trying to maintain or lose weight at all.<br><br><br><br>
It's very odd, I know how you feel, though!<br><br><br><br>
Yes, 1900 calories + losing weight + sedentary = ?, but it's not a mistake. It's probably your body telling you that it can burn more, so you can eat more.

Over here the recommended calorie number is 2000 a day for women. And as far as I know that is just to exist and maintain weight.<br><br><br><br>
I hope you are doing ok. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">

isn't it because you're recovering from an ED?<br><br>
and because you're finally getting in enough calories...your body's all YAYYYY fooddddd *burns*.?<br><br><br><br>
At least that's what happened to me in the beginning, I could eat an entire cake in just two days and my normal meals and I'd still lose.<br><br>
It's all evened out now though and due to a relapse my metabolism has slowed down..which sucks hehe.

what is more accurate, an online calorie calculator, or your own body?<br><br>
clearly you're blessed with a very high metabolism.<br><br>
enjoy, and stop freaking out, please! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/dizzy2.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":dizzy:">

1900 calories might not be enough to maintain your weight. Based on your height, body composition - ratio of muscle to fat and also your metabolism, you might need more calories. I am a 5'10" and moderately active and I can maintain my weight at more than 1900 calories. If you do not want to lose weight eat more nuts, grains, avocado etc. not greens.
