Mr. Howell, the millionaire? 
Haughty Mrs. Howell?

OMG no, no, no! That was in no way intended as a slight against this thread but rather at the silliness of GI (and the predictable joke people make at its expense) which is a show I loved as a kid and have enough fond memories of today that I can even remember the name of my favourite guest star.

My fave episode has to be the one in which the silent movie equipment washes ashore and they make a movie describing how they were marooned, and send it off. It winds up as an entry at the Cannes Film Festival, where it wins a prize! The radio announcer says "We don't know who made this movie, but it's won a prize. All you have to do is come to Cannes and get it!" <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/laugh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":lol:">

I LOVE Gilligan's Island!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
But didn't they nearly get off the island in *every* episode??? That's part of the fun! 
I would be the old prisoner who had the homing pigeons but when he got the pigeon with the message he was told he was released and let the bird fly away without reading their note. He was played by Sterling Holloway (voice of Winnie the Pooh) 
Oh Oh! Or that episode where the director washed up and they did the musical of Hamlet!! I loved that one. I think that was Phil Silvers. 
Or that episode with that huge unrealistic spider in the cave....I could go on! 
edit: Spiderman has just informed me that homing pigeon and the giant unrealistic spider are the same episode. I am geek girl married to geek boy.

He was super smart (though not smart enough to get them off the island) and always kind of had some sexual tension with Ginger and Mary Ann.
