Just wondering how many people feel the need to drink milk, whether it be cow/soy/rice/etc.

I used to occasionally drink a glass of milk when I was lacto-ovo, but since switching to vegan, I would never drink a glass of soy milk. I do drink chocolate soymilk very rarely (once every few months). I use plain soymilk in coffee, on cereal or for baking/cooking.

If you do drink it, is it because you like the taste, or for the vitamins/minerals?

OK, I'm addicted to chocolate soy milk. Its not very widely available around here, so I don't drink it too often, but when I do get it, its standard breakfast for as long as it lasts. I just like the taste, and its quick, filling and good for rushed breakfast, along with some toast and fruit.

I drink enriched rice milk almost every day for the nutritional value and because it tastes good. Sometimes for a change of pace I'll buy almond milk - it's cheaper. But now the grocery store in my town is selling Rice Dream in big cold cartons!

I drank soymilk like I drink rice milk, but I've heard some not-so-good things about soy lately, so I'm using less. I only use soymilk it cooking and cereal, and I only drink it when I'm out of the other stuff.

P.S. I'm vegan.

sadly (and grossly), I used to drink 3-4 cups of cow's milk a day.... but I quit that nasty habit nearly three years ago.

Now I don't drink any kind of milk, but I do use rice/almond milk on my cereal, soy milk in my baking etc.

I drink soymilk. I most often drink it in flavored versions-- chocolate, coffee, chai-- but I also drink it plain because there are certain foods, such as brownies, chocolate chip cookies, PB&J, and pancakes, that just cry out for a glass of milk to be drunk with them. So I guess it's for taste more than anything else, although I also appreciate that it's good for me.

I'm having cinnamon-raisin PB with banana on bread and a glass of cold soy chai right now.

I only use soy milk in protein shakes because they would be too thick and powdery if I didn't.

Other than that, no.

The only liquids I drink are water, coffee, and beer.

And I don't eat cereal; I'm a toast man all the way.

So, yeah. Bloody fascinating isn't it?

Cheers!

I drink it once in awhile because it bacame a habit on Weight Watchers when they told us to drink two glasses a day "get your dairy in" they would say. Also I would drink it for calcium. But I agree it is weird isn't it.

I discovered I was allergic to milk when I was about 12, so I haven't really been drinking milk like products since then. I do however make Mexican hot chocolate with rice dream about a dozen times a year. That's really the only "milk" drink I have.

I occassionally make milkshake or hot chocolate with soy milk, and have it with the odd bowl of cereal. I don't drink it every day though.

I have a cup of soy milk on my cereal in the morning. I also use it to bake, and will sometimes have a mug of it when I have cookies to dunk. But never, never pour myself a glass and drink it up.

for a little while not long before i decided to go vegan, i would force myself to drink cow milk for nutrition, but i always found it disgusting. i would only drink it in combination with sweet things, or with chocolate/strawberry flavoring, and i almost never drink plain soy or almond milk now.

I very rarely drink ~milk. I never drink cows milk. Spewwwww!! I'll have the occasional glass of rice/soy milk with a peanut butter sandwich though... Otherwise I just use it in cereal (oatmeal usually).

I use rice milk on my cereal and use soy milk for cooking or baking. I never liked milk when I was an omni, thought it tasted terrible. I would only have it in my lattes. I am allergic to dairy now anyway. People always give me sympathy for my dairy allergy but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I hate dairy!
