Okay, I was having this discussion with my beloved recently and decided I would post it as a poll for the greater VeggieBoards metropolitan area.

Which Superhero would you be and why?

Personally, I was going to say Carrot man, but his superpower of sprouting that useless green stuff out of his head was just plain lame.

Seriously, I will go with Trojanman because of his stated desire to help keep the world from overpopulating while helping people get busy.

(I'd actually go with Batman because Bruce Wayne could just sit around and pay people to re-enact insignificant periods of history in his living room all day (I know that's what I would do with all that money), but instead he risks his life trying to make a difference in the world.

You know what? On second thought, that guy's a chump, I'm going with Carrot Man

I want to be bitten by a radioactive chickpea and turn into Hummusman and wake up with all the powers of hummus. Pita bread would be my Kryptonite.

Actually I would be The Tick. Because I love a good soliloquy:

I am the wild blue yonder. The front line in a never-ending battle between good and not-so-good. Together with my stalwart sidekick, Arthur, and the magnanimous help of some other folks I know, we form the yin to villany's malevolent yang. Destiny has chosen us. Wicked men, you face The Tick.
That's some choice material.

If I was Batman I would pay people to scour the world and collect all of its Kryptonite so I could lord it over Superman and make him do all the work while I stayed in bed with Vicky Vale.

there's not enough good chick superheroes on the poll! What about Storm,Jean Grey, Rogue,(and half the X-men) and Invisible Girl?

Elektra is a wimp, BTW. American Maid could take her. and even the Powerpuff girls can fly without a plane and their in kindergarten.

Rogue would be my first choice.

Those were not choices.

I kind of picture hummusman as Pizza the Hut in "Spaceballs", constantly dripping.

Yeah, sorry about that, it is a bit of a gender biased poll. I got near the end and realized I had to throw the women a bone. I thought of Wonder Woman quickly, but there aren't any other real marquee female superheroes.

Oh, and I thought that Pamela Anderson big-boob'ed character might be slightly insulting.

Electra Woman (or Dyna Girl)--those are who I played growing up. I loved those yellow and red outfits and that huge Electracomp thing they wore on their wrist like a watch. And I thought it would be cool to have a mad scientist investor live in your basement and make you gadgets.

For those who didn't grow up in the 70s here is a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electra..._and_Dyna_Girl

Obviously spiderman would be a logical choice but I never identified with him growing up because he was a man.

damn, remi beat me to it (though I thought we were meeting monday).

In any case, I picked Wonder Woman b/c she has an invisible flying car. Who wouldn't want one of those?! Though you'd have to leave it impeccably clean. Any empty coffee cups on the floor of the back seat would show up. hmm.

Spiderman is my favourite these days. He's got this down-to-earth appeal when he's sitting in the sofa watching morning TV and eating cereal after a rough night in town fighting super crooks and other scum.
