Kind of a weird question, especially coming from a Newbie like myself, but I'm curious.

(This is the first time I've done a poll, so forgive me if I screw it up.)

Having 6 months left to live. I have no fear of death only that I might leave things poorly taken care of. But if I knew I was going, I would use those 6 months to prepare things and just wonder what my next incarnation would be like.

Being permanently paralyzed from the waist down. I know several people who are and live just fine like that. Not that I could necessarily do it, but I'd have some help around, and have that encouragement. I've learned a lot from being in a group for kids/teens with handicapped siblings.

It was a toss up btw being a midget and being paralyzed. I chose midget.

This is an odd poll. The results will be very interesting, I think.

I think I would be able to handle being a midget best.. even though the paralyzed one wouldn't be that hard for me. There is no way in hell I could handle being a conjoined twin though, or only having 6 short months left to live.

For me, it was a toss up between having 6 months left to live or being paralyzed from the waist down. I think I could handle either of those fine. The worst for me would be being a cojoined twin.

I ditto Erin, I'm not affraid of death but I would worry about my family finding something that I wouldn't want them to find if I were alive.

I couldn't choose between wheelchair bound or midget. I sit all the time anyway, so I chose paralyzed. But does that mean no feeling in my sex organs?

Maybe I should have chose midget. Much easier to get around and take care of yourself.

It seems like you're making light of some serious situations. I dislike these types of questions... they're almost insults to people who really are in those situations.

I'm sorry Marie. I didn't mean to offend you (or anyone else).

I am one of the four and I guess I'm just selfishly trying to figure something out. My apologies to anyone who finds my question insulting. I hear stupid questions/comments all the time, and it was really stupid of me that I didn't even think how it would make someone else feel.

I don't want to reveal which one I am because I want people to answer honestly. Also, I want everyone to know that I am not in the least bit offended by any of your answers. I really appreciate all votes and/or comments. I am a bit surprised by the answers thus far. More later...

Thanks

Midget. I would hate not having feeling down below and I also like to walk. I like my life right now and would prefer not to die. I would also feel bad for Jake because he'd have 8 animals to look after by himself. And I sort of can't bear the thought of not being able to find him next life. Being a conjoined twin would probably not be so bad if you grew up knowing nothing else but it's the most removed from my experience now. Being a midget would just be like now (big assumption here), but shorter and involving more discrimination, which I could probably handle okay. I'd hope.

i chose midget as well. you'd still have full use of your body, some things would be inconvenient like reaching sinks in public washrooms, that sort of thing, but you can work around it, adapt to it etc. and if you can't reach something there are always footstools.

being in a wheelchair wouldn't be the worst thing either because again you can adapt

I think I'd make a kinda cute midget. I had a midget friend once. She was a really sweet and had a great sense of humor. My fond memories of her are probably what moved me to choose midgethood (I make up words as needed). Plus, I am so clumsy. I'm always tripping and falling and dropping things. If I were a midget, it wouldn't be quite as far to the ground. I'd probably have a lot less bruises that way. I could have some fun in a wheel chair though. I don't think I could trip over my own feet that way. Well, knowing me, I'd find a way. If I only had six months to live, and knew it, I'd probably be stoned on morphine laying in a hospital bed dying a slow, agonizing death. I don't know if that's the way I'd want to go. Being a conjoined twin could be a lot of fun. At least I'd never be alone. Tough question. Luckily, we don't have to makle these kinds of decisions. Sh*t happens, and we either deal with it or commit suicide.

worst thing i can think of about being a conjoined twin would be bathroom trips, bathing, and sexlife. but you'd be used to it i guess

Bathing? Are you kidding? You'd always have a back scrubber around. As for the sex, there's plenty of positions out there, I'm sure a suitable one could be discovered regardless of where the conjoinment is. I mean, sure it would be a little weird, but if I fell in love with a conjoined twin, well, love conquers all. We'd figure it out.

Midget. Wheelchair would be my second choice, but I doubt I could handle being a conjoined twin. That'd be weird...I like the ideas about sex life and bathing though

Are you worried that some of the answers might bother you?

Oh no, not at all. In real life, face to face situations, people don't say these kind of things around me. It's really interesting to hear what people really think.

Cougar, I love your attitude! You're awesome!

I picked 6 months left to live. It's the only one where you're not treated as some kind of freak for a lifetime. If I had six months left to live I'd try and have as much fun as possible and be happy before I pass on.

And don't use the word "midget." It's offensive to little people(as they prefer to be called.) Just remember that it's really not a nice thing to call them.
