Sweet and Sara or Dandies?

Because if I'm going to buy a $5 bag of marshmallows + shipping, I don't want marshmallows that taste like rubber >.<

So how does the taste compare with the omni marshmallows? Also, do they melt, like to roast over a fire or make into rice crispy treats? I wish common marshmallows at the store were already vegan and only some had gelatin, because I hate shipping costs and all that, too

I agree. I like sweet and sara and I had a pretty good packaged s'more thing from them but dandies are definitely more authentic. The saras are too dense while the dandies are nice and puffy-I only wish they were closer in size to omni marshmallows. The halfway between a regular marshmallow and a mini marshmallow thing is a bit odd. They're also a bit pricey so I've only bought them a couple of times.

S&S are good in their own way, but very dense. I want to try a S&S s'more. I think it would make an AWESOME wedding favor, I've been planning that for years
When I bought S&S, I didn't want to eat them because they were so expensive, so they sat in my fridge until they dried up
No bueno.

I've only had sweet and sara, which were good but I agree with what the others say in that they were very dense and very sweet, and not what you'd typically think of as a marshmallow. IMO they're nicer than typical marshmallows, but then I've never been a mashmallow fan!

I only bought them once, and made a silly mistake of doing so right before christmas, so I ate half and forgot about them
and they went hard and horrible by the time I'd remembered!

Is there a site you can buy both from ?

OMG, I just did the same thing!
I ate the big ones, but I bought the minis, over the winter, for hot chocolate and I just threw them out!

Holy Shiiiiite! Pangea (www.veganstore.com) has a nice variety of both Sweet and Sara and Dandies!
I have actually had the S&S toasted coconut and S'mores...they were both very yummy.
I am anxious to try the Dandies since they are lighter and fluffier...I agree that S&S are quite dense.
Someone is going to be doing some major online ordering...see ya in a bit!

They were like gold to me
I brought them back from San Diego and would take nibbles, but I was waiting to use them for something cool like S'Mores and it just didn't happen.

Me Neither! Hence this post...

I'm going to have to change that for hot cocoa season, though!
