I am moving back to Mississauga in January and was vegan minus the tofu/tempeh for a month before I left. I am clueless about what is available in Mississauga when it comes to vegan foods. Anyways, an internet search doesn't bring up much.

Where can I buy vegan foods? Nuts and seeds?

Can you be more specific in what kind of vegan foods you're looking for? Any main grocery store will have some vegan foods including nuts and seeds.

How is the (processed?) tofu/tempeh from the grocery stores? And is there a store that sells homemade quality tofu/tempeh?

I don't consume gluten and beans. I will consume lentils sparingly.

My body enjoy's walnuts still in the shell, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, etc..

My body enjoy's boston bibb lettuce, baby lettuce, etc.. mature types of lettuce but not too mature and not picked too immature where the leaves are still yellow.

Thank You.

I see there is a Whole Foods market in Toronto: they have *everything*, but are pricey. Regular grocery stores have some nuts and seeds and good lettuces. You can also grow lettuce really easily in containers if you have a sunny spot.

I find the best and cheapest tofu in asian markets here in the states. Tempeh I see frozen in regular groceries, but no one in my family likes it so I never buy it.

If you can get to a Goodness Me store once in a while (locations in Hamilton, Burlington, Waterdown and Brantford), they are great to find vegan food (I prefer them over Whole foods), albeit a bit more expensive than your regular store - it's a health food store; they only sell organic vegetables. They sell a good amount of gluten free products. They also have a great selection of nuts and seeds.

Excellent. Thanks for the information. I will check out the Goodness Me store.

Thanks for the suggestion LedBoots. So I searched for asian market mississauga and found some results.

Posting my results if someone in the future needs them or if I need them.

I have not. I wasn't even aware of their existence.

That's good news. Hopefully the store in Mississauga has a good selection of foods you're able to eat. Goodness Me doesn't have a large selection of vegetables, but they do have a lot of other vegan products (including gluten-free pasta).

Grocery stores, health food stores, and Whole Foods near Square One. Oh, Sobeys has a health food aisle that has a lot of vegan options. I also notice that Loblaws in the nicer areas has a lot of vegan options. Also check out Kosher/Jewish stores.

ETA: kosher stores are gonna be in north york, toronto not 905 territory.
