Hi Veggie Boards,
My name is Angus Chen. I'm a reporter with NPR/National Public Radio (you can see a list of recent work at wnyc.org/people/angus-chen). I'm working on a story right now about people, particularly young people, switching to a vegan or vegetarian or another diet (paleo, gluten-free, raw) and not being understood or supported by their families. I've heard some stories where parents resented their children for having to cook extra or make it hard to find a place where everyone could eat together - or during holidays. Others had felt excommunicated from their family altogether.
In short, if you can relate to this, I'd love to hear from you. Especially if you became a vegan or vegetarian while living with your parents/family. Post here or message me on Twitter (@angrchen) with your holiday horror tales, your experiences, and stories. I'm looking for some people to be interviewed for a piece.
Thanks! hope to hear from you.
