Slate magazine writer Jacob Weisberg has a column about how Donald Rumsfeld (aka Rummy) is portrayed in Bob Woodward's three books, going from hero in the first book to zero in the last.
Weisberg seems to have come to a point where he wanted to write "when hell freezes over," but might have thought that that was too much of a cliché. So he wrote instead:
