This is just a fun poll to see where VBers stand when it comes to apples. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">

There was no mention of Braeburns. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/whip.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":whip:"> Ever since I discovered Braeburns, they've become my favorite. However, they're not always good, so I fall back on galas and/or fujis. I bought some organic galas at Wild Oats last week that turned out to be terrific. Usually when I buy apples of any variety, they turn out to be hit and miss flavor-wise (some of them good, some lousy), but so far all six I bought have been really good. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/lick.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":lick:"><br><br><br><br>
The store actually HAD some Braeburns in, but I didn't like the way they looked. That's why I bought the galas instead.<br><br><br><br>
And Rome apples are only good for baking, BTW. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/inquisitive.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":stinkeye:">

Ah! I knew I forgot Galas. Never heard of Braeburns. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/tongue3.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":p"><br><br><br><br>
And some people only cook with apples... what's wrong with throwing in a good baking apple? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"> I know people who don't like eating apples but like apple pie.

I won't touch an apple pie for anything in the world. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"><br><br>
I like my fruit raw and my veggies cooked. ONLY. No EXCEPTIONS. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/yes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br>
That said, I picked McIntosh but I like Golden Delicious too. Every so often I pick up a Granny Smith for the tartness or there's another one, Johnathon or something like that? My kids like Pink Ladies. The only apple I won't eat is Red Delicious. Yuck. Something about those taste off to me. There my husbands absolute favorite though. My kids won't eat them either. They told me they were rotten. haha.<br><br>

ETA I saw <b>Jonathon</b> on the list after. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/doh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br>

Please don't beat me <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/whack.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":whack:"> but.... I don't like apples. Actually, apples don't like me. I have hypoglycemic tendencies and every time I attempt to eat an apple it makes me nauseas (same with pears).

Hey now, I eat Rome apples out of the pie! And I enjoy them, too. Don't be hatin' on my raw Rome apples. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/brood.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":brood:"><br><br><br><br>
My favourites are Pink Ladies though. I never come across mushy ones.

Fuji is good, also Braeburn.<br><br><br><br>
I've recently planted an orchard of apples, all different kinds of disease-resistant and heirloom apples suitable for the South. I hope they are any good, because if we're lucky we'll get about half a ton of apples from them per year!

Fuji apples are my favorite and (usually) the only ones I eat. Once in a great while I'll eat golden delicious.

Janie, they seem to be sweeter than most apples and tend to have more crunch than the watery kind of bite that other apples have. More 'rich' I guess you could say. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)">
