I've been wanting to calculate mine for a while, and I found this:
http://www.nature.org/initiatives/cl...ge/calculator/

Result: 5.5 tons, that's not bad Well, I don't have a car and I'm vegan, so that counts for a lot, I suppose. But I had to guess a little with the state, I'm from Germany and I'm not sure which state is like NRW.

So what's yours?

I got 12, because I live in an apartment not very well insulated with no energy star appliances or lighting. Can't change that, I guess.

Geez, just clicking on Ohio raises the tonnage to 15.

Its probably higher because I'm not sure how what the housekeeping does to increase cooling and heating efficiency. We don't have 'energy efficient lighting', unless you count opening the shades for sunlight versus turning on a lamp to see during the day (which is what I do).

Booh, it's only for Americans. Might want to put that in the title maybe?

Edit: Oh I see, I guess I can just pretend I'm from California, they get their hydro from us anyway.

Quote:

I was pretending to be from New Jersey, since I live in a small crappy place next to a big place, and this is what I understand NJ to be from films...

I got 45 for my (2-person) household. Even though we compost, have more recycling than trash, one vegetarian and one omni who doesn't eat all that much meat, one hybrid and one fuel-efficient small car, all energy-star appliances, efficient lighting,...... Just being in Kansas made it go up a lot. (If we were in California, we would have been 26, all other things being equal.)

That's depressing. Kansas needs to get with it.

80% of it came from the cross Pacific flights last year and the SUV that I drive. I'll probably look for a more fuel efficient car when this car is ready to go.

27 for me. My score really shot up in the transportation section because I fly a lot.

4.5 here. I'd be smug, but if I were to do it by household, I'd likely end up at >9000.

I noticed they ask about driving and flying but nothing about how many miles one rides a bus each day. Last I checked buses aren't emission free. I think they like to pick on us car drivers.

I did it again and added a person and took away the car. All the other answers remained the same and my # was less.
