The Neon Demon.

It was recommended to me as a well shot, aesthetic film with good reviews that was maybe a little try hard and 'shocking'.

It actually featured very poorly written characters, almost no plot (and several plot points that were featured and then never mentioned again). It felt like it was trying way too hard to be edgy and shocking whilst achieving neither. Some scenes were beautifully shot, but not all.

Excellent soundtrack, but would not recommend >___<

*Blush* The Great British Baking Show. Does anyone else watch this and think, "Can I veganize these recipes?" :p :D

IRON FIST, probably the weakest of all the Marvel shows so far but still better than all the DC shows! I'd rather watch Danny Rand move in slow motion for an hour than listen to Barry Allen for 5 minutes. :shifty:

Me too. Iron Fist last night :)
Danny annoys me a lot, despite the years of rigorous training, teaching and contemplation, he's not intellectually matured at all since his crash at ten years old. The Marvel world inhabited by Iron Fist, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, feels much more human and less 'comic book' (graphic novels were comic books when I was a kid) than some. I do hope he grows up a bit next season. Great fight sequences though and I'm always willing to cut way more slack for super heroes, science fiction and fantasy than I would for regular shows.

I've actually been going back and rewatching all of Star Trek, from the beginning. I've actually watched all of the original series, Next Generation, and Deep Space 9 in the past, but not Voyager or Enterprise, and I think I missed one or two of the Next Gen and reboot movies. But it's been over 5 years since I watched the shows last, so I decided to start over and watch them again. I'll have to buy some DVD sets to actually watch all of them, since I don't have Voyager or Enterprise yet, and I doubt if I'll bother with the reboot movies.

I recently finished going through the entire original series. I made notes about which episodes were so bad that I have no desire to ever watch them again if I go through them all again in the future. Let's face it - that show had a few very good episodes, and quite a few very bad episodes, with maybe half that were in between.

I also watched the first movie, which was actually better than I remembered. The plot was boring, but in the context of having just watched the entire original series, I appreciated the artistic merits of having a big screen budget and MUCH better fx. Also, first appearance of Klingon foreheads and the Klingon language. Still not a very good movie overall, though.

Next up is Wrath of Khan, which is a big step up. I'll probably finish all 6 original crew movies before moving on to Next Gen.

Hula hoops, a lost art of anti-gravity play time that serves as some darn good (and fun) exercise.

Just started watching "13 Reasons Why" last night. I was skeptical that I would be into it, as I'm way past high school days LOL, but it's pretty good! Enough of a mystery to keep me intrigued. Props to those Netflix Originals - they impress me far more than so-called "blockbusters" in the theatre ^_^

I just watched Outlander and so totally recommend.
I didn't want to watch it. I assumed it was trash. And it's epic and wonderful. Love.
Before that I finally saw season 2 of Skins and that's also top notch.

Oh and we're gradually savouring episodes of the latest Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon trip, "A Trip To Italy" which is nicely paced and sleepy for winter eves.

Music wise...
These are my sounds right now...
Always Laura Veirs

And always some electronic radness

So true! Hated 13 Reasons Why (only gave it a 1 ep chance to be fair) but Stranger Things and Black Mirror etc. were fantastic and we rarely go to the cinema at the moment.
