Atticus got $150 in vet treatment because he had a swollen lump on his face of unknown origin. Atticus and Monchichi also both got "Kitty Can't Cope" catnip sacks, and crinkle animals in their stockings.. which Atticus kept ripping off the walls.

Our dog got a bag stuffed with cheap toys (she destroys them in minutes) and grandma got her treats. Our parrot got a cloth wreath to tear up. The chickens got the scraps from Christmas dinner.

Chloe got a bunch of Merrick's fancy food that she loves, $50.00 worth of toys, and a new brush. All of which we wound up giving to her early
The only gift she got to open was from her grams which was a nylar bone, and another toy. She loved helping us open our presents. I wish I knew how much she liked opening them, I'd have waited!

We were too broke to get anything for each other or the "kids" this year. So, on Christmas morning we took the dogs to the dog park and I brushed my two girls (collie mix and a shepherd mix) because they both love to be brushed.

I'm taking my collie mix to the DIY dog wash after we get aid in January. She is going to love that.

Pixie got new cloth balls to chase (her favorite toy, she gets new ones every year), lots of treats, and cat "candy." Ratties got a chew tube, igloo and little rat-sized stockings which Santa Rat filled with crackers, nuts, and all kinds of goodies.

Both my dogs got kongs. I have been looking at these for awhile now and this seemed like a great time to buy them.

When we went to my parents house my mom had bought each dog a stocking (my 2 dogs and their 2 dogs) and she put a bunch of treats in them. We don't get to keep the stockings though because she wants to keep track of them for future years.
The 4 dogs now have stockings where my brothers and I used to have ours. It is kind of funny.

My mother in law gave us a dog brush, though I think she is trying to give us a hint since she comments everytime she comes over that there is dog hair on our couches.

Aww, ss skylark.

I failed to mention the best gift my dogs got for Christmas was getting some new playmates for a few days. On Christmas Eve the shelter tried something called "Operation Empty Shelter" and had volunteers take home some of the shelter dogs home for a few days so that they wouldn't have to spend Christmas in a kennel. (And we did succeed in getting the shelter empty except for a few dogs who were sick and had to stay behind). But my own dogs were thrilled because that meant they got a new playmate for Christmas. I took home two dogs Libby and Nate. Libby preferred the company of Starbucks and Perry who are both calmer, while Nate preferred the company of Skip and Mikey my two friendly nutcases. Then when I brought Libby and Nate back to the shelter I brought another dog home for just a few hours--Noel, who everyone is convinced must be Skip's sister because they have the same body type and build (which Skip is a very unique looking dog) and sure enough Skip and Noel hit it off wonderfully and after just an hour and a half at my house they were both exhausted. So that was my dog's favorite present out of all the stuff they got, just getting to make some new friends.

kpickell, we were signed up to take a holiday foster as well (for cat(s)), and were scheduled to go to an orientation and everything.... but then the day before the orientation Pesto was hospitalized so we had to drop out of the program.
We definitely want to do it next year.
