but around here the Holidays are one of those times where I can go out and spend money on the pets without feeling guilty about splurging. Anyone else get their pets any presents? Fess up.
My dogs just had a joint birthday party about three weeks ago and lots of people came and gave them toys and treats, so for Christmas they've all gotten mostly practical gifts. Although they did get a few stuffed animals from goodwill. They each got nice big dog bowls (no more dollar tree crap with the food spilling everywhere when I try to mix in canned food), and cheap comforters for their crates. Skip got a t-shirt that says "bitches love me". Mikey got a special night collar. Starbucks got a new basketball. And they got a second bike leash attachment. The cats got a better cat bed, their favorite treats (aquariyums) and will get a cat tree off ebay after the holidays. My parents and sister's dogs are all getting talking hand puppets from krogers that aren't really dog toys, but which my own dogs love more than their real toys.
a friend got the pets: a new woolrich reindeer (fake sued), 2 dog tug ropes, cat mice, for my cats, greenies, and I bought my new pup "puppy class." Hopefully she will learn how to behave.
Our cat got a really nice new brush from my grandma, and from me he got three different sweets, a playmouse, and three balls with bells inside =) From mum he's getting a really fancy designer food and water bowl..I havent seen it yet since he hasnt opened it yet =)
We got Rufus a new big cushy bed. Hopefully he won't eat this one. He also has a stocking which will be filled with various treats, bones, and a new big crazy basketball toy.
Ducky is getting this- http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2002+113032 because she rubs on things about 16 hrs/day. Roberts is getting a crinkel sack. They already got their stockings before I went out of town so they would have lots of new toys to play with. They also got a new cat post (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2002+113198) from one of my friends who upgraded her cat's to one more appropriate for their age.
Other than that they're getting a few smaller things, some sew your own toy kits, they got christmas themed collars and some christmas themed toys.
We got the hamsters little hammy stockings, they don't give a crap but it makes us feel more festive, and I got some of the horses I train and ride little bags of healthy treats and my er, cough, sort of favourite got a new headcollar. I couldn't afford to buy them all one and his was getting a big raggy
My dog opens her own presents, and helps open everyone else's as well. She gets a buttload of tennis balls from my parents & a big plastic candy cane of dog treats from my granny every year.
My cats aren't getting anything. They have a million toys and rarely play with most of them. I'm mean, I know.
I bought all four of my cats a bungee cord to use to keep them out of their food storage container. No matter what I try, they seem to be inexorably innovative in their ability to get kibble of of the damn thing.
