Inspired by AndrewFL who is turning 16 next week!

So pretty self explanatory, if you could go back in time (or into the future) what would you say?

Some of mine:

- chill out, nothing matters that much

- be nicer to people, especially friends and your mum and brother

- have more sex, but don't do anything you don't want to do

- go to school, but if you don't go to school, do something fun

- have more fun in general, but don't drink so much

- get some exercise, you'll feel better

- Get out of the Jehovah's Witnesses! They are a cult and you are ruining your childhood!

- It will all be OK, Renee. It's hard but you'll be better for it.

Nothing I would say to myself then could change the situation.

STOP IT! Things are going to get better and you're going to want to enjoy wearing short sleeves.

Also, going vegan is way easier than you think it is. Ditch the cheese.

I would tell myself that there is a lot about myself that I dont know and wont be told until later, so I would let myself know about that stuff beforehand. I would get myself to buy Dale Carnegies "How To Win Friends And Influence People." I would tell myself not to try so hard socially. I would also tell myself never, never, to work in an office.

Oh and I would tell myself to take an interest in cooking so I could become a vegetarian earlier.

- just because you don't need to work hard to get by doesn't mean you shouldn't work hard. You'll need that skill later.

What YOU should do is write a letter to your future self. I wrote one to myself when I was 13 and read it when I was 17 and it was a weird experience to say the least.

If you're anything like me you will discover you go from extremely awkwardly dorky to moderately dorky, I think I was blushing from embarrassment the whole time I read it.

Spend your time more with your baby nieces and nephews the next several years rather worrying about a jerk boyfriend of yours. Also to think of what college to go too.

Did you save up enough for a car?

Have you adopted any more pets?

Have you gotten better at cooking?

Have you finally tried veganaise, nutritional yeast, all that other cool vegan stuff?

Foster friendships with people who are nice to you, not the people who seem the coolest.

Date your friend Jeff (my current boyfriend, we were friends in high school).

Don't hate the world so much. They aren't lying when they tell you it's just a phase.

Money isn't everything; pursue your interests.

It's OK to make mistakes. Don't dwell on them; learn from them and move on.

"You're fantastic. Keep it up."

"You'll still be this fabulous in five years!"
