What would everyone choose as their "dream" occupation? I'm talking, something you've thought about since you were a kid.

I've pretty much always wanted to be a fictional character. Specifically in the Harry Potter series. Before that, I wanted to be Madonna. Lately, I've wanted to live in late 1880's France. However, I don't see any of those things happening in the near future. I just can't think realistically enough.

Wow this is a great thread!!! I dont want to talk about what I do but I will tell you how I found the perfect job for me. My life was turned upside down I hated my job, my wife sought a new path for her life (without me), and I was in the darkest funk I had ever been in. All alone for the first time since I was in high school and free to do whatever would make me happy I could not see the opportunity through all my sadness. So I went on a raft trip and wouldnt you know it, the guide was a vivacious, athletic, intelligent and witty girl a few years younger than me. She was also well versed on various religions, which was a huge turn on as well. But this is not a story about her but instead the question she asked all of us in her raft that day.

On flat water after one of the larger rapids she said, Ok I want to go around the boat and each of you tell me what you want to be when you grow up. Now mind you she was a couple years younger than me and I was at least three years younger than everyone else. So we all laughed and preceded to say what we did and report that we still had not found our passion yet. After the trip I never saw Katie again but her words haunted me. I thought about how she lived with next to no possessions yet was totally happy. I decided I needed to change. When I got home I limited my activities to eating, sleeping, and working and stopped everything else that was unnecessary at that moment. I spent all my free time thinking about what things made me happy and what jobs would pay me to do those things. Within three months I had quit my job, despite a mortgage payment, and was enrolled in courses that would get me started in my new profession. Now two years later I have never looked back. I no longer work for a living instead I get paid to do what I love doing any way. When I made the switch, I promised myself as soon as I was no longer happy I would think of what I want to do at that point in my life and I would change again! Good luck to everyone in finding your passion.

When I was a kid, I really wanted to be an archaeologist. Now, I'd like to have a vegan restaurant and animal sanctuary (all types of animals). I'd also like to spend more time making art. I'm not doing anything at this point to try to make those things happen, but you never know what the future will bring...................

Throughout all my different career phases as a kid, being an artist was always at the top of my list. I kind of lost interest in it though as I got older but my artwork stopped improving.

ROFLMAO That is so funny. WWF is World Wide Fund for Nature. It's an animal charity I donate to. They're one of the biggest in the world. You know the one with the Panda logo.

Well here's a list of all the jobs I've wanted... And in the order that I've wanted them

Pilot, To be in the airforce (then I realised that you would have to go into small planes for those.. and I hate small spaces.. and also the idea of sort of working for the government I didn't like), In a famous band (but I cant play an instrument YET), Fashion designer, Farmer, Out door education instructor, A music label manager, Radio broadcastor, Journalist, Actor, Director

I still REALLY want to go in the path of any of them apart from the pilot one

so my ultimate dream job.. hmm.. either Actor or Radio broadcastor!

Danny

I have always wanted to help the dolphins... You know, go into marine biology and work out on the ocean. I just need to get my butt back in school.
