mine was sometime late in 2000, i didnt mark the day. Im really not to good about dates. But my experience was like v3gans, last meat i ate was a steak, i only had 3 bites, thats all i needed to ensure i would never eat meat again.
when i finally got the guts to tell my mum i was going vegetarian i was eating a hot dog...... after i told her.. i didn't eat the rest of the hot dog, it just didn't seem rite, that was in march 2001....
Shrimp was the last animal I ate. (I stopped eating animals in order of intelligence - first pigs, then cows, then poultry, then fish, and finally crustaceans and shellfish). I last ate pork about 16 or 17 years ago, stopped eating beef within six months, and poultry probably six months after that. Fish soon thereafter. I ate shrimp and shellfish for a while longer - it's been about 12 years since I last ate shrimp.
hey thats super cool you started same day as i did. What happend with me was i heated it up in the microwave and then sat down at the table for once ( always ate in front of tv, less alone) so im sitting there alone and i cut into it and take like two bits then i just look at it. like i reallllllly looked at it, saw that the steak was stringy muscle helt together and there was veins and dripping "juice" and at that moment i realized that i am the same deal as this thing, I am made of the same things. and from there on it spawned a thought that i am no different than a cow or a fly. and with all that many more ideas such as inflicting ones own will on another sentient being was wrong, I dont decide what dies or when it dies.
January 1, 2003 I had a steak, my last piece of meat before going vegetarian. I won't deny it tasted awesome, but not awesome enough to continue living a life that exploits animals like that. I think I may have eaten a couple things that had fish sauce or mono/diglycerides in them since but now I know better.
My last meat was in April/Mayish of 1997. It was bacon. I looked at it, and it looked a lot like my own skin. I decided I didn't want to eat meat any more, so i finished cooking it, ate it, and ate no more meat.
I can't remember when it was, but my last meat was a plate of rib tips that I had at our local meat house. It was ok, right up until I got a tiny (pill size) bit of rib bone/cartlidge/??? in my bite and there was no way to politely spit it out so I took a really large drink of my tea and swallowed the bit like it was a pill.

Everytime I think about that, I want to
