What is the use of Carboplatin in cancer?

Carboplatin Injection is a chemotherapy drug containing the metal platinum which helps to prevent the growth of cancer cells by damaging their DNA. It also works similarly to cisplatin but causes fewer side effects. It helps to treat advanced ovarian cancer as a first-line treatment along with other chemotherapy drugs. This drug belongs to ‘alkylating agents’ metal salt which works by affecting the cells at the resting phase and also they are cell-cycle non-specific.
