Last night, my husband, my sister, her husband and I were in my apartment parking lot shooting a scene for this cheesy movie we're doing. But beyond that....something really creepy happened and I wonder if anyone here can shed some light on it. It was about 9:30 P.M. and I looked up and saw a large yellow light moving in the sky. I was looking for the blinking lights to confirm that it was a plane and there weren't any. But still, I didn't want to get paranoid....I wasn't thinking it was a U.F.O or anything and I still don't think that....but as to just what it was I can't say.

Then my husband saw me looking at it so he naturally looked up and was watching it too. Then....something fell from it. FELL!! It looked like someone had thrown a sparkler from it, but since it was so high up it wasn't that (it was obviously much larger than a sparkler being that it was so high up in the sky.) We were freaking out and my sister and her husband wouldn't believe us so we were screaming at them to look up and it happened like 3 or 4 more times. They saw it too and we were about to run inside because who knows if whatever was falling would have come crashing down where we were...but then enough time passed where we figured that if anything was going to crash there it would have already happened. My husband says it looked like gunfire...but I would like to know just when it is that he's ever seen actual gunfire (insert me rolling my eyes here). LOL. But seriously...what the heck was that? Anyone?

Or maybe its a military plane shooting out of the sky at enemy planes? Perhaps we're way more in the dark than we think we are on this whole war business.

How fast was it moving? as fast as a plane, or faster/slower?

and how big was it, about as big as a plane?

I have seen lots of unblinking, yellow-glowing, bright objects in the sky i could have sworn were alien

space ships, but turned out to be planes heading in my general direction. After about 5 or 10 minutes, the planes turn, and you can see they are obviously planes. But the sparklers falling from it, i don't know what that could be. the plane having problems, maybe?

The alien theory is much more interesting, though

A few weeks ago, i was standing in my backyard at night, and suddenly i see two bright yellow "fireballs" about the size of baseballs fall somwhere in my neighborhood. I knew they were close, because it got very hot outside while they were falling. The logical expanation is that they were meteorites. But maybe they were the same kind of thing you saw, and there really ARE aliens invading earth

Another thing to consider is were you taking any medication then? I don't want to sound cynical, but I don't want to rule out the possible.

Even if she was, skylark, what about the three other people who saw it? unless you mean that she imagined ALL of it, which is unlikely.

Back when I was a goofy little druggie, if one of us (meaning my friends/drug buddies) saw pretty lights, we could convince the others they saw them too.

Somebody could have fallen out of a ballon. A hot air balloon has a glowing gas-jet. Or parachuted out, first freefalling for awhile. Meteors move quickly; any pieces that fall off keep moving in the same direction, more or less, rather than "fall from it."

That could explain it then, Kat

Sounds to me like we're not discarding all the unlikely suggestions, so we may need to wait to hear back from Herself.

Well, it was moving about as fast as a plane..basically it took about a full 2 minutes to be completely out of sight. It was one yellow light that seemed to be about 5 or less times bigger than a far away plane. It even appeared to be glowing (or rather burning) than it was a steady clean light. It certainly wasn't blinking though.

Quote:

Nope...I don't even take headache medicine when I get headaches. And I wasn't on drugs either. LOL.

Quote:

Exactly, especially considering that my sister was calling us crazy until she looked up and saw it for herself. Not to mention that the weird thing falling off happened at least 4 times...maybe 5.

Quote:

Do hot air balloons even fly at night? Also, if someone did parachute, why would they be lit up? Because what we saw falling from it looked like a sputtering light that went out about halfway down. I don't think it could have been a meteor because it was flying overhead like a plane, not to mention that the things falling from it were not moving in the same direction of the "yellow light".

I repeat....I was not on drugs and neither was anyone else. LOL. But, if you saw what kind of "movie" we were filming you might think we were. It sucks, because by the time any of us even thought of filming the weird light thing and my brother-in-law grabbed the camera, it was too late and it disappeared just moments before he hit the record button. Grrrrrrrr. All I know is that I was scared sh*tless! ......and I still don't know what it is.

Planes generally have no reason to let off little sparkly things, unless they are in trouble.

Check with your local police station to see if anyone else saw anything. Also, call your local aviation weather station and see if they reported any disturbances, or odd things on the radar.

If they tell you there was "Swamp Gas" in the area, it was aliens.

Oh dear......I called the police station (not 911, being that there was no emergency) and asked if anyone else had seen it...and of course noone had. GRRRRRR. I called about 2 hours after we saw it. I think I should call my local aviation weather station based on what you're telling me, but I don't know where in the world I'd find their number. Would 411 know?

"Swamp Gas"??? ummmmm, should I know what that means? LOL

If you don't know how far away it is and how big it is, there is no way to estimate how fast it is moving. If you don't know how far away it is, there is no way to estimate how big it is; if you don't know how big it is, there is no way to estimate how far away it is. So your story makes no sense.

They don't fly at all. They just get blown in whatever direction the wind is blowing. Any time of day or night.
