Is there more than one species of plant in that planter?

I would second and say beetroot. If beetroot and silverbeet cross pollinate you get silverbeet with a nice red stem. Pretty.

Could it be possible that you planted some beetroot with that other stuff (that one green head does look suspiciously rapini-like, on closer view)? Although, either way, it's all edible

Looks like beets (of some sort) and brassicas (cauli, brocc etc).

If it is beetroot (no idea because I've never seen a fully grown beetroot plant and frankly I don't have very green fingers!), perhaps the seeds came with the salad leaves as you can pick the young beetroot leaves as salad? That's how my parents grow them and eat them with salad, so that may explain where they came from if you didn't intend to plant beets?

If it isn't - ignore me
