Also, re-check items for ingredients every-so-often as recipies often change. Supermarket own brands often change every couple of months between veggie and non-veggie ingredients
i just found out that trident splash has gelatin in it...read it before i chewed it..but didnt know before that.
It seems that most gums that come in hard pieces have gelatin in them. Stick with stick gum.
really?? hadnt noticed that...thanx for the heads up and i think i will stick with stick gum

Lots of vegetable soups are made with beef stock.

I didn't read the whole thread - sorry if that's been said already.

Ragu spaghetti sauces (even the vegetable ones) are made with beef, too.

And someone told me once that the natural flavors in V8 are beef derived, but I'm not sure about that one.....

Of course, don't assume stick gum is safe, either. The stick gum with the tiny little colored beads (Winterfresh?) has gelatin too I think.
nope never do...always read all labels no matter what...thanx again for the help...much appreciated.

I haven't read through this whole thread yet, so this might have been mentioned before, but anyway...

It's always irritated me that restaurants often have a couple "vegetarian" options... which *always* have cheese in them... but cheese has animal rennet in it -- meat.

How are they getting away with this? Do most vegetarians not know that the typical cheese you get at restaurants is not vegetarian, or is there something I'm missing here?

capsule style vitamins are made with gelatin. Most white sugar because it's fiiltered with cattle bones. Casein is something you'll find a lot, and it comes from milk. "vegetable" ramen has chicken fat in it. Nearly all of the instant stuffing mixes have chicken fat in it too.

I hope that you don't feel overwhelmed by all the things that people posted, sometimes you can only do your best and nothing more. I know I lived through college on vegetable ramen and one day realized it had chicken fat in it!
