After reading the You Know You Have No Life When... thread, I felt we needed something a little more upbeat. So tell us what fun things you did or are planning to do today (or yesterday, or tomorrow)! (And let's keep it clean, people!)<br><br><br><br>
I got up early this morning, went hiking at Memorial Park for about an hour and a half, then took a dip in the pool to cool off. We're pretty pooped from the hike (some really rough terrain), so we're spending the afternoon watching Super Saturday at Wimbledon. Later tonight we're going to dinner and a movie with my dad and his wife. I plan to order the "Spectacular Vegetarian Platter" at Backstreet Cafe. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/hungry.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":hungry:"><br><br><br><br>
PS: Argh, what a struggle I had posting this! I went to see Animal House at Red Rocks last night. Red Rocks is this large outdoor ampitheater built in the red rocks in the foothills of the Rockies. Its pretty awesome.<br><br><br><br>
Today, I am going to a wine tasting, and tonight a party someplace. Tomorrow a gathering at a couples house. The wife is mostly vegetarian and she is respectful or vegetarians and has lots of good food prepared. Thats always nice. We will be watching some fireworks from there.<br><br><br><br>
Monday I will be working, and Tuesday I am going on an all day hike, then more partys in the evening. Should be a fun weekend.<br><br><br><br>
No motorcycle this weekend which is probably a good thing. Lots of people drinking and driving over the next few days.

I had a fabulous performance at the Fair last night. We got paid and the crowd response was fabulous!<br><br><br><br>
I am going swimming with my family today at the MIL's palace (yeah, her palace, not 'place' She has an amzing house!). We need the relaxation <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/yes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":yes:"><br><br><br><br>
My DD is going to digital photography camp tomorrow!<br><br><br><br>

tonight I am watching the Canada Day fireworks (weather permitting) at the park with the family. tomorrow I will be going to a barbeque (omni) but it should be fun nonetheless. at least I get to meet people.

My other vehicle is a pickup truck, so I feel safer driving it when traffic is heavy. It needs to be driven anyway. Sits in the driveway a lot.

Thats one thing I miss about living in Detroit. Every year they would have the Canada Day and 4th of July fireworks combined on the Detroit river. We would goto Old Fort Wayne and watch this enormous fireworks display.

As for the rest of the weekend - laying low, a bit of yard work, maybe a movie (The Devil Wears Prada perhaps?)fireworks on Tuesday - all good!

I used to live in a border city. so I got to watch the July 1st and July 4th fireworks.

OK, so last week, we went on vacation in Seattle! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/broccoli.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":bobo:"> We had. So. Much. Fun.<br><br><br><br>
We went to Mount Rainier National Park, drove up to Sunrise Point, the highest elevation you can access by car, then did some light hiking from there through the subalpine meadows with spectacular views of Mount Rainier. We also hiked through the Grove of the Patriarchs, also in the park, full of HUGE trees, some thought to be nearly 1,000 years old.<br><br><br><br>
We went to Snoqualmie Falls, a gorgeous 240-foot waterfall with spectacular views of the Snoqualmie River valley, and hiked down to the foot of the waterfall and back.<br><br><br><br>
We went canoeing and kayaking on Lake Washington.<br><br><br><br>
We rode the Spirit of Washington train up to the Columbia Winery and toured the winery (sort of).<br><br><br><br>
We rode the ferry across the sound and drove around Bainbridge Island.<br><br><br><br>
We hung out at the Pike Place Public Market and along the waterfront in downtown Seattle, and ate all kinds of treats from teh sops in the market, like vegetarian piroshky from a little shop that sells about 10 different kinds.<br><br><br><br>
We went to the Sci-Fi Museum and Hall of Fame at Seattle Center. It was cool.<br><br><br><br>
We took the Underground Tour in downtown Seattle, which was fun and interesting.<br><br><br><br>
We toured the Locks on Lake Union and saw the salmon swimming upstream to spawn.<br><br><br><br>
We were going to take a sunrise hot air balloon ride, but after two cancellations due to weather, we gave up on that. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/mad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br><br><br>
And of course, we ate at lots of great veggie restaurants! I had Ethiopian food and Greek food for the first. Yum. And we ate at a couple of really nice upscale all-vegetarian restaurants. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":up:"><br><br><br><br>
And, it being Seattle and all, I drank lots of coffee.<br><br><br><br>
So I had a really fun week last week, and I'm making up for it this week by doing Absolutely Nothing.<br><br><br><br>

GREAT Pics Tess! I'm so glad you guys enjoyed our lovely part of the country.<br><br><br><br>
Sorry about the bad luck on the hot air balloon ride though - I honestly didn't even know they DID them around here, what with all the high hills and trees and changes in weather and such... gives you an excuse to come back again.<br><br><br><br>
Oh, and nothing too "fun" here - I'm taking a summer-school class "Diagnostic and Behavioral Techniques for Educators of Adolescents with Autism/Asberger's Syndrome" or some such long title... it's HOURS long, in a dreary, muggy, old building with no windows and no air conditioning...ugh...<br><br><br><br>
On the flip side, some of my fellow classmates are a HOOT and we've been hanging out after class for hours at the nearby Starbucks, that's fun anyway!

I had a great, but all together too late, night last night. After I went climbing at the gym my wife picked me up and we went up to San Francisco. A group of fire dancers (including my wife) practiced in a real cool location. It's a place that looks like an old Greek or Roman pavillion and seeing people spin fire there was amazing. There were live drummers and at least two dozen fire performers who lit up and performed. Way cool. I can't wait to see the fire performances at Burning Man.<br><br><br><br>
Didn't get home until 1:00 and had to get up for work at 5:30. I'm draggin today.

I finish my job today and I'm flying out to Spain straight after to meet my boyfriend and go to a music festival!

Yesterday me and my friends went to pets corner (basically, a farm without the farming, just looking at the animals) and I stayed with the goat for about an hour.<br><br>
Then we went to the beach & swam in the sea.<br><br>
Today I am going to meet up with all the people I went to Iceland with.<br><br>
Tomorrow I will be going off to stay with friends in the country for a couple of days. They have no electricity or running water, but lots of land. It's usually pretty fun.
