Gelatin for me. It was Haribo Sourmix I had most difficult cutting out. My mouth still waters thinking about them. Vegetarian jelly babies are just no substitute I'm afraid. And they're darn expensive.<br><br><br><br>
Oh and tuna. Cant say I miss proper meat that much.<br><br><br><br>
On the subject of tuna has anyone here tried any faux tuna, and is it as good as the real thing.

Sorry, only answering the "tuna" part of your question for now - The most commonly available "tuna"-style faux meat is called "Tuno" and it gets mixed reviews.<br><br><br><br>
There is canned Tuno which IMO is wretched, nasty, slimy smelly stuff (Oh, wait, I thought that of real tuna too!). Draining the yakky "juice" out helps only slightly ... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/spew.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":spew:"><br><br><br><br>
However - there is <a href="http://www.healthy-eating.com/worthington_frozen.htm" target="_blank">FROZEN TUNO</a> which, when thawed and mixed with mayo and such is pretty passable, well, I like it, but I never liked tuna, so who knows....<br><br>
Oh wait - I have a friend who's recently become allergic to fish products and she loves Tuno, go figure...<br><br><br><br><a href="http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/2005/12/unfortunate-incident-of-tuno-in-lunch.html" target="_blank">Check out this blog</a> for a review of the canned Tuno product... too funny!

Oddly, I don't miss land animals at all. I was never a big meat eater though. Shellfish are a bit harder to resist but then I remember that the thing that made them taste so good was just the butter (or in the case of sushi, the soysauce and wasabi.) Cheese is definitely tough to resist but I'm only trying to minimize dairy as a weightloss measure so it's not like I'll never eat it again.

I'm with Bios. I miss being able to eat wherever I want without worrying about what's available for me if anything. On the plus side, not eating out is good for my weight.

Totally. Actually they need to work on vegan crab. If they can make flavorless white fish taste like crab, they can certainly make tofu taste like it.
