My favorite wrap (that always gets raves...even after they find out it is vegan)...

Ingredients:

-pack of those green tortillas (herb/spinach, I think...)

-Tofutti Better than Cream Cheese

-about 5 cloves of garlic

-couple fresh jalapenos

-bag of slaw mix (in produce)

-bag of "spring" salad mix

- jar of Spike

-some nutritional yeast flakes

-fresh salsa (Reeser's just seems to taste the best in these)

How:

Warm the tortillas and cream cheese in microwave, spread cream cheese on most of tortilla, going all the way to the edges on one side (so it will stick when you roll). Slice garlic cloves and jalapenos (not too thick, not too thin) and place on top of cream cheese. Sprinkle Spike and nutritional yeast on top. Add slaw mix, spring salad mix, and salsa (keep it light, go for the chunks- otherwise your wraps leak), roll it up, nice and tight. Slice each wrap into 4 pieces.

I like to place them upright on a bed of shredded purple cabage (this creates little canals for the salsa and other juices to drip into, without soggying up the bottom of the wraps). PLace the wraps upright, closely hugged together.

That is usually what I take to a bbq, potluck, picnic, whatever- everyone raves about them.

Wraps? I used to have the same yummy wrap almost every day during Spring Quarter It was lettuce, tomato, olives, sprouts, pickles, cucumber, and sometimes this bean paste stuff. I love it But don't have wraps here at home, and the quantities for all the ingredients are so small it's not conveniet to buy the big bag and have it rot.

A friend wrapped this up for me one time (it was yummy) They had broiled salmon in theirs, but she made mine special...

Crumbled garden burger (cooked up in a Forman Grill)

That thick green leaf lettuce (what the heck is it called?)

Italian dressing

sauteed red peppers, onions, zuchini

capers

Sliced little yellow tomatoes (man were they good- have not seen them in the grocery store, though)

It was fabulous. We had it about 30 minutes after the peace pipe (hardy har) went around, served it with an ice cold IPA (India Pale Ale). It was about 8:30 on a beautiful Alaskan summer evening.....there were flowers all around us.. There was a slight breeze... A show about a garlic festival was on TV.....Man, it was heavenly...

aprilmoonflower - they sell them at Fred Meyer over here (our college dining hall has them too, so I suppose other places sell them too) and they are like 10 inches wide and in a translucent platic foil bag kind of thing.

I have seen them at Kroger. I used to wrap a cream cheese/ranch dressing avocado, spinach, tomatoes, jalaapeno cheese and turkey when I was an omni, would be great with vegan cheese and Tofurkey....

I also make refried bean burrito wraps

vegan cheese

tomato

corn

refried beans

Wrap and bown on all sides in a skillet.

Serve with hot sauce, salsa, vegan sour cream.

Yum!
