Well, autumn is fast approaching, here in the Northern Hemisphere.

While I have not personally experienced everything in the list below, they are among the traditional, classic elements of the autumn season.

Watching the leaves change color and fall from the trees
jumping into a big pile of raked leaves
Halloween
Thanksgiving
Guy Fawkes Night
That crisp, spicy tang in the air, the cooler days, the cooler nights
OMG apples are in season!

What else can be added to the list? What do you like best about autumn?

I love autumn so much! It's my favourite season by far.

- The reintroduction of pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg flavouring in things

- Sweater weather! My ideal weather is sunny and a little chilly but not cold, just a bit of a bite to the air. I dislike having to wear so little clothing in the summer, plus I hate feet so socks and shoes are always nice. Lately I've been basically wearing a tank top, skirt and flip flops every day. I miss my layers of black.

- Less sweat and less bugs, less squinting in too bright sunlight (I know, I'm some kind of nocturnal mole person
)

- Leaves changing colour

- Halloween!!! My all time favourite holiday, so much better than Christmas. I get really sick of Christmas and seeing and hearing the same things over and over again, but Halloween never gets old for me.

Ooh, autumn!

-Sweater and jean weather
-Leaves turning colors
-Spiced drinks

I could go on and on, but that's the main reason I love autumn/fall. Hence the reason I'm having a fall wedding.

I'm actually with you on all of these. I'd rather bundle up in cool/cold weather than walk around with very little clothing on in hot weather. I guess I'm a nocturnal mole person, too.

Decorating.

I have a blast decorating for Halloween and changing out all of my spring and summer colors for warmer, fall tones. I hate cold weather, so when the temperature drops I turn the house into my own personal project.

Oh....and eating lots of chili.

Everything! This is my favourite time of year. I love the cooler weather, the abundance of fresh food, the flavours associated with it, sweater weather, pumpkin carving, crunchy leaves, Thanksgiving, the lead-in to Christmas. I think about and hope for autumn all year 'round.

Yes to everything that's already been mentioned with the exception of hockey
which I could care less about. But yeah for the fans that are looking forward to it.

Also:
No more constant running of fans and a/c.
comforting cups of tea instead of iced drinks.
I won't look ridiculous and out of place anymore wearing long sleeve shirts everyday
Less people outside!!
No more kids running around playing and screaming all hours of the day and night. (They tend to harass my dog when I take her out for walks.)
No more sweating .
Pumpkin pies, soups, apples, seasonal teas/coffes, cookie making, decorating, after holiday sales.
Flea and tick season is over (well less threatening) and less exposure to west nile.
New tv seasons and series start back up!!

I love that summer (my least favorite season) will soon be over and winter (my favorite season) is approaching.

I like the leaves turning also.

I'm not a big fan of holidays. Thanksgiving makes me sad. Although with November approaching I'll go to Farm Sanctuary for the celebration.

fadeaway, do you live in a regular neighborhood? I know what you're saying about mean kids. When I owned my house I had some really nasty neighbors raising really nasty kids. My apartment complex is in an area where there are also houses. My best friend used to own one of the townhouse duplexes that are up the street and when jogging with her dog she even got harassed in the neighborhood by a group of young males once. It makes me so mad. I feel so much safer in my complex. Everyone here is nice and leaves you alone. I'm sorry for what you put up with.
