I was suprised, when using google this was the only modern looking and more active forum i could find. (excluding Usenet)..

It's good, i have it bookmarked.. but what i'm more of looking for is a place where Vegans post about things other than food and veganism.

On usenet the main vege forums appeared to be the same as here, if anyone knows of something different please let me know ;0

\\/ Usenet Archive.

first, yes i am vegan.

next, i was looking for a "general" forum that's basicly everything but food and veganism.. Whether it's just general interests, hobbys, politics, music, computers, movies, books or video games..

I just feel like the current forums i've found are not places where you can get to know someone, or see how people think past the school of veganism and cooking.

i understand there are probably things like that on forums you have now, but they are rare and in between the normal vegan stuff.

I tire of wasting my time with meat eaters. If i had my choice i would not waste any more of my life speaking to them. Yet i want a place to discuse more things!

i suppose down at the bottom are things that cover most of that,

"The Veggie Patch

Off topic discussion forum.

Arts and Entertainment

The Compost Heap

Discussion forum for friendly debate on a variety of topics."

then theres even a politics forum..

the "veggie" patch appears quite full, i just didnt notice it with that weird name, and it being stuck near the bottom..

Well, I'd just like to say that I would *NOT* reccomend the www.famousveggie.com message board. Some of the people who frequent that board can become downright nasty if you believe something slightly different than THEIR OWN "correct" beliefs.

Granted, there are some nice people there, but I've found *this* board to be much better!
LOL

Hey Peebs I love your avatar. I dream of the day that there will be a vegan fast food restaurant. Soy shakes. Oven fries. Hummus sandwiches. Veg Mc Bagels and Veg Mc Muffins. Tofu nuggets.

It would be kewl. Shannon

generally speaking a large majority of the threads outside the support forum (health, relationships and food) are about a lot more then veganism.. also we have a chat room that is rarely used to discuss veganism.. heh nope it is always sex there
j/k we talk about tons of stuff.. that is were you can really get to know people.

with that said i hope you stick around and give us a try.. beware you stay to long and you will become addicted and will then need to join VBA aka veggieboards anonymous.

You can visit my forum: http://www.hipforums.com/forumdisplay.php3?FID=1238

As judging by the number of views, many people look but fewer post. I try to post news and opinions every day.

At this site there is also a general vegetarian forum, and a personal a.r. "discussion" forum that is run by a hunter/farmer and his pals. But try my Support forum, it's friendly.

...So lets get this right, the whole place is ran by a hunter and a farmer or just the two forums that you point out above??(?)_ I would like you to be clear on that coz you also imply its your forum too when you said "my"!! Who intiated the site and has most control over it???

What interests does this farmer/hunter have in the running of this site and how big a chunk of it does he/she lay ownership to!?

Hi Anaconda.

No, the entire site isn't run by a hunter. This is a large forum discussion site that allows members to purchase their own personal forums. The personal forum that I run, is called "Animal Advocates' Support" and is meant as a friendly place to get news, information and general support for the forum's veg*ans and animal advocates.

The "animal-rights Discussion" forum is a personal forum purchased by a hunter/farmer. Basically there is a group of hunter/trappers and livestock people who like to bash animal groups and veg*nism.

The other "Vegan Yearning" group is newer and is a personal forum purchased by a vegan. It deals mainly with vegan nutrition and consumer products.

The "Vegetarian" forum is part of the larger forum site set up by the site's creater and webmaster. It is a general site, typically frequented by new vegetarians seeking advice. It is usually friendly although trolls and flame posters crop up.

I'm sorry for the confusion..hope this clears it up a bit...
