Hey Everyone,

I'm just curious as to what everyone says to this question. What animal issue do you care about the most? Obviously we all dislike factory farming, but what other animal rights/welfare issues do you care about?

I, altogether care about every single animal issue out there at the moment, and I work to help animals on all issues at the moment. Although other than factory farming, I do have a particular passion for pet overpopopulation and animals in entertainment.

I care about all issues but I focus on encouraging people to go vegan because that will save the most animals and because when someone goes vegetarian or vegan chances are they will also boycott circuses, fur, rodeos, etc.

If you are a vegan, you naturally care about most or all animals by default don't you, and so it can make single issue campaigns seem silly and frustrating. However, they really are invaluable in the process of getting non veg*n people to see the light.
I could probably mention issues that I don't pay a lot of attention to far easier than one's I do involve myself with, and one of them is "saving whales". So many omni's seem to have that one covered already

I'm concerned about most animal issues. Being vegan this naturally includes things such as factory farming and animal testing, but in particular I feel very, very strongly about wild animals being captured to be used as pets or entertainers. The capture of wild birds, sea life, and other animals to be put in pet stores, zoos, circuses and the like is appalling to me.

Vivisection is an issue that is very personal to me as I used to perform it myself when I was a research scientist a decade ago. I also find the practice of shark-finning particularly appalling.

I naturally gravitate towards the issues to do with soft, fluffy animals because it matches my personality.

Pretty much all of them. But Factory farms seem to be my most active right now.

I care about how animals, in general, have been enslaved by humans for different purposes (food, entertainment, clothing, "science", etc.), and looking at the systems in place that do this and make this seem okay.

Pretty much anything to do with poultry. I think my spirit animal is a chicken.

Dissection, because I'm a believer in the value of biology education and hate to see it tarnished.

I speak out on a few uncommon issues - urban wildlife, heirloom breeds of animals traditionally used in agriculture - but they rarely come up in general conversation. And I've found they really don't interest too many people anyway.

But I end up talking to people about the range of issues. Once they figure out I'm an 'animal person', they expect me to know something about everything it seems.

People who keep on breeding their dogs when so many are euthanised every day for being 'surplus to requirements'. Pedigrees in general dont sit right with me, since they exist purely for people, not the dogs.

Yes. Many people seem to view dogs and cats as accessories instead of living creatures. I detest dog shows, and I get annoyed when people try to talk to me about breeding. I really don't understand why more people aren't interested in adopting. Even as a small child I always preferred the idea of saving a dog from the pound as opposed to buying one from a pet shop or breeder.

I also hate fur. There's a lot of animal exploitation out there that bothers me, but fur is very high on the list.

i care about all of them of course. but to narrow it down to my top ones i have to say i do love all animals but dogs are my favorite so dog fighting is a huge issue for me. HUGE i just dont see how human beings get there rocks off from seeing an animal kill another animal it rips my heart out.
also the fact that theres so many strays out there. why dont people just get there animals fixed especially if they have cats that go outside. there are so many cats around my house its not even funny.
and then of course factory farming. especially chickens because chickens have absolutely no kind of regulations when they are being murdered
and then animal testing sickens me as well. o my list could just go on and on. why cant everyone just love animals. we could have a domestic pets and treat them nicely and just leave wildlife ALONE that would be a grreat world

o and also breeding like said above. why are we breeding more dogs when there are so many out there. apparently in some 3rd world country i dont remember which one, they have a pit and when the people there find stray dogs they drop them in these pits and basically let them starve to death and they eat each other and then more are dropped in then they starve. so in america we breed more.
and i hate that people still breed pitbulls there are so many pitbulls in the pounds and there are so many out there that unadoptable. but we keep breeding them. even though they are pretty much just bred for fighting which is sick.
people are supposed to be the smartest beings on this planet.... i dont believe that is true

Improper pet care... So I like to put the 'right' information there, and I do a lot of volunteer-work with the rescue effort of abandoned pets.
