Hello again everyone!!!

I got the okay from my wedding coordinator to have an all-vegan wedding (thank you to everyone who helped me figure out that situation!) and now I need to come up with some vegan meal ideas for our wedding!

I actually have three meals to plan for: the rehearsal dinner, the reception dinner, and brunch the following morning.

I'm pretty sure the rehearsal dinner and brunch will both be buffet style, so any ideas for that is much appreciated!

I'm not sure if the reception dinner will be plated or buffet, we will figure that out after we meet with the chef, but I need some ideas first!

I'm also wondering what you guys think about picking one "type" of food for dinner, like mediterranean or mexican, or if its okay to have several different types of food?

I would also appreciate any ideas for appetizers for cocktail hour and late night snacks!

Give me all the ideas!!!:)
And thank you in advance!!!

How about the "Las Vegas buffet" style of eating. Casino buffets always have the most enticing dishes. Guacamole! Marinated green olives! Bowls of strawberries! Hummus and pita! Bruschetta! Little thin-crust pizzas! People love starchy foods (even low-carb people will eat them on special occasions).

I would avoid mixing regional/ethnic cuisines that are very disparate. I wouldn't offer something like veg sushi and pizza at the same meal, even if it was a buffet. I don't think everything necessarily needs to be a match, but I would be careful about styles that clash.

I like doing google image searches.... just so I can look at a lot of photos and get ideas for what works visually.

And Pinterest is awesome for ideas. Google will grab whatever images it finds, but the things on Pinterest are curated by people so there is much more emphasis on style and presentation.

I saw this on Pinterest and laughed. It's a vegan dessert table but if you look closely the table decoration is Brussels sprouts. http://www.austinweddingblog.com/2010/11/fruit-veggie-wedding-dessert-table.html

Offer familiar appetizers, like a fruit bowl or tray, a veggie tray with hummus dip, olives, mixed nuts or a Chex mix type of thing, and fancy nut cheese with crackers or fancy cocktail breads. Obviously chips, salsa and guacamole are also familiar snacking.

For meals, offer something omni-like that is veganized, like stuffed shells or vegan lasagna with meatless crumble and cheese subs.

But also offer something healthy veg, like a marinated tofu with a quinoa almond side, or something along those lines.

Also offer salads or cooked vegetables, and vegan desserts.

You could do the rehearsal dinner as Mexican or Mediterranean, then the wedding more along the lines of what I suggested.

Please don't go all healthy!
Tempura cauliflower, zucchini, onion rings.
Something like a general tsos tofu
Cashew cream mushroom alfredo-- maybe a spiral zuchini choice
Pad Thai
Baked rigatoni with Tofurky Italian sausage, peppers and onion

appetizers
variety of crositini
spinach arthichoke dip--(made with vegan mayo, not just tofu) w veggies as well as crackers
OLIVES, olives, olives. maybe marinated mushrooms
ooooo-those stuffed grape leaves are great!

Look at the food porn forum

dessserts--raspberry sorbet with dark chocolate hard shell

mango sticky rice--my favorite. I like it with the rice hot and the mango and coconut creme slightly frozen--and crystallized ginger on top

good coffee, and tea

We had vegan food at our wedding. We did have meat and fish choices, but the vegan choice was pretty good and we weren't the only ones who picked it. There was a nice green salad with a strawberry vinaigrette and some other stuff, and the main entree was roasted vegetables with a balsamic glaze on quinoa.
