I wish I was still at the point in life when I had wine for breakfast!! Its going to be a bar but for a minute I thought "breakfast nook". Turns out I like wine more

Looks gorgeous. Be sure to have pics of the redone kitchen when you get around to that!

Yellow/gold is great to liven up a room. I love the fact that you chose it to go with hardwood floors. I have two things to mention.

1. Are those curtains black? It's hard to tell from the picture. I would go with a maroon/deep red color.
2. I think you need something more bold above wine seating area. Something similar to this (I superimposed a pic that I can imagine fitting in that area):

I like that. I am def putting something more bold up above the seating area ( a black and white of NYC), thats just what was there before we did anything lol. The curtins are sheer black and I will take a different picture from another angle, I am trying to stay away from reds and maroons, not a big fan when paired with yellow.

Just out of curiosity, are you thinking of changing the curtains? If so, what would you go with? Any kind of pattern or color scheme?

Nope the curtains are there to stay, if you saw the whole room I promise they arent bad. They just look odd because you can only see a tiny bit. That wall has two windows, they are sheer with alternating darker black thick stripes. The color scheme for the room is yellow, black and white All the wood work is like the built in hutch, there are 3 doorways and 2 windows.

It looks great!

I think it's funny that sleepy is redecorating. Maybe I should post pix and sleepy can "fix" my house too. Although, I have many special requirements! No curtains since cats climb them and toddler pulls on them and dog chews them. No plush furniture at all unless we want dog to add custom cup holders in it at inappropriate places. No glass below 4' because toddler can reach it and break it. No floor rugs because one cat will pee on them. I could go on but I think you get the idea...
I love watching home decorating shows but sadly I can't do all that much in my own home.
